We had two stays, at the beginning and end of our visit to Turkey, and thought the Hotel Daphne was outstanding value. The location is perfect for sightseeing in the Sultanahmet, and the rooms are charmingly furnished, with views of the Bosphorus over the Sokullu Mosque. In summer, the roof garden is a perfect place to enjoy a meal. The hotel is just above the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque, and only a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern, the Sokullu Mosque and others, great shopping, and excellent restaurants. The Daphne breakfast was the best we had in Turkey. The staff are helpful and you can leave your suitcases while you sightsee before an afternoon departure. We left cases for a week, without any problem. We will stay at the Daphne next time, for sure.

This hotel has been absolutely FANTASTIC with us. We four friends were in a problem and were scared of our safety in the hotel we were staying in Kumkapi. Walking around, we came to this hotel, and from the moment we stepped in, all the staff had been absolutely helpful. The owner himself personally helped us and treated us well. We felt at ease and at home.
He even arranged for a staff to come with us to get our luggage from the other hotel. Because we were so scared of our safety, we wanted to stay in one room, and the staff especially made the room more comfortable for us by providing camp bed.
I cannot express how happy we were to find this hotel, and my only regret is that I wished we had come to this hotel first. But I definitely would come back to this hotel again, when required. This hotel was near to all the tourist locations such as the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, etc…..
The room was absolutely beautiful and clean, with great air conditioning and lightning. The bathroom was exquisite. Most of all, the view was absolutely beautiful. The whole hotel was great, the terrace was fantastic with great views, and the breakfast was great. Most of all the staff and the owner were fantastic, and helped us to continue our holiday with happiness.
I would definitely come again to this hotel.
GREAT HOTEL WITH FANTASTIC VIEWS AND SERVICE!

“Liked the Daphne”

Daphne Hotel

Jun 27, 2008

The Daphne has a good location near the Grand Bazaar. It was recommended by friends. The first night we were housed in an apartment/hotel across the street from the Daphne. Our unit had a kitchen, our friends unit had a roof deck...with a door they couldn't lock. They were on the top floor with no elevator. The two nights we spent in the Daphne proper were great. There is an old mosque ruin right outside the hotel and a lovely view of the Bosphorus beyond.
The people running the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast, included, was a nice buffet with a nice variety. 24 hour desk.

Stayed at the Daphne for about nine days earlier this month and really enjoyed it. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Rooms are small and clean, bathroom is nice and also very clean. Make sure to request a sea-view, as the view is very nice, especially in the mornings and when there is a full moon. Also, the rooftop terrace offers some very nice views as well, especially during sunset. Location is very central to all the historical sites, less than five minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc. There is also a convenience store less than a block away, and other reasonably priced restaurants within close walking distance. Rooms also have AC/fan, which became useful on the hot summer days. Across the street from Daphne is a nice little outdoor area that serves drinks and fruit at night, while patrons watch live sporting events on an outdoor LCD TV. Free complimentary breakfast is available every morning, coffee, orange juice, cereal, meat coldcuts, cheese, dried apricots, boiled eggs, fresh cut cucumber/tomatoes, toast and some other condiments. For you Westerners out there, please keep in mind that the rooms are smaller than what you may be accustomed to. Also, this is not a 'luxury' hotel, but more of a small, quaint, mom and pop boutique establishment, which is exactly what we were looking for.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

“Loved the view”

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights, and found the Daphne to be a very nice botique hotel. The staff were very helpful, rooms were very clean, and the position was excellent. The street is quiet and off the main beat, but it is only about a 8 minute walk to the blue mosque and many other interesting sites. I went there on business and did not want to stay in one of the big international chains and aia am very glad we did. We had room 401 which had a fantastic view of the ocean. I will stay there again when I return later this year.

The old centre is the way to go as you are walking distance to the Bosphourous, spice market, bazaar, and many great areas with a wide selection of restaurants.
