I spent 3 nights at the Olympia. I would call this an excellent 2 star/class C hotel and not overpriced. I don't tend to spend much time inside a room or a hotel, so this was a good choice. The Olympia is clean, tidy, and in a great location. The room was basic and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good-sized. The aircon was fine, too. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about city-related questions. They were never rude or pressured. The Olympia is next door to the Basel and across the street from the Sheraton Moriah. It's literally a 5 minute walk from the door to the sand. I called them directly for the reservation and they handled it courteously over the phone. (I am not so sure there is anything to "special internet rates" based on this and other experiences.) I was due to check-in at 5am and the night clerk was unaware of that, but found a room for me no problem. That was the only glitch in 3 nights. The next day, I asked for a different room and that was handled quickly. The only things I would have liked in the room were a private safe and maybe a small refrigerator. If you choose this hotel, I recommend asking for a room on an upper floor in the back. There'll be view, but it will be much quieter since the windows are not double-paned. One thing about the location. The majority of Tel Aviv hotels are on HaYarkon, which is a busy, noisy street across from the beach. The Olympia is located on the better part of HaYarkon, north of the business center and around the corner from a residential area and a very smart shopping district (Dizengoff St.). Farther up the street are the Carlton and the Hilton. I wouldn't recommend staying at any beach hotels south of this location (Olympia & Basel) unless it's one of the high rises (more expensive) which are mostly on the beach side of the street. The small hotels will probably get too much traffic noise for most people.
