“Great place to stay”

I stayed here in June 2007. Can't fault the hotel at all. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are perfectly adequate with the all important air con. All trips and excursions booked through the hotel reception with no fuss at all, and hotel staff more than happy to help and advise on excursions. Location is superb - a stones throw from the beach. Breakfasts are good, but never got round to trying the coffee and cakes which are served at 5pm.
I arrived at the hotel at 7.30am and room was ready for me straight away. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Maxim in Tel Aviv for a total of 7 days, three when I first arrived in Israel, and 4 days at the end of my stay. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is nice with a hair dryer and great water pressure...something I didn't have in Jerusalem. The breakfast is quite good and at 5:00 pm they serve coffee and cake. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't need a fancy place, but needs a nice, clean, airconditioned, friendly place to stay, and right on the beach, by the way!! I enjoyed it very much there.

“Great Value, Great Location”

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon (first 2 nights and the last night of the trip). Location is top notch - gorgeous beach right across the street. Rooms are small but adequate and we found the rooms on the higher floors to be better. A tip: if you want to avoid twin beds (which are common in many hotels) contact the hotel in advance to make the request. The staff was friendly and while they didn't gush over us, we had no problems with any of them. Breakfast was good - a nice variety and if you want an omlette or scrambled eggs, just ask for it! The coffee, cake, and tea in the later afternoon is a nice touch as well. For an average of $96 US a night, we were very satisfied.

“Great location, poor service”

price and location were right, but you get what you pay for. Hotel was clean, and directly across from the beach. Great restaurants near by, and flat walk to Nachlat Benjamin Mkt. However, we had requested rooms with views, and did not get them. We were told the hotel was booked and we couldn't change. However, when my parents room did not have airconditioning, a different staff member gave my dad a choice of 2 other rooms. Rooms are small and basic. The beach so close, we did not spend much time in the room. Breakfast was included, and was more than adequate, with someone making fresh eggs to your liking in the back kitchen. Front desk help was pretty useless, gave a lot of misinformation, and really not knowledgeable of the going -ons of the area. That was annoying.
If you are looking for help planning your day, and getting around, this was not a good place to stay.

“Really good value”

This hotel is cheap and basic. The rooms are simple and the breakfast is nothing more than you need. It is very, very good value for money. It is very conveniently located, the staff are that strangely adorable Israeli mix between blinding rudeness and breathtaking helpfulness, it is very clean and really, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who just needs somewhere to sleep for a few days. One drawback - I did stay in winter and my room was FREEZING - having said that, I bet the rooms are lovely and cool in the Summer, and seeing as I was there in the very middle of winter I can't complain. Don't expect anything luxurious, but do expect to get your money's worth. I would give this a FIVE STAR in terms of what you get for your money.
