“A good hotel”

Days Inn Hotel & Suites

3 of 5 stars
Canberra
Apr 30, 2008

We stayed here as part of a tour group and as it was the last stop stayed a couple of nights extra.

When we booked in my sister and I were given a double room. It was the only hotel on our 16 day tour that made the mistake. Thankfully as soon as I went downstairs to tell them of the mistake they corrected it and gave us another room.

The rooms themselves were clean, relatively large and very comfortable. In all, we saw 4 rooms (other rooms of guests in our group). The furniture in some of the suites with a lounge room was more dated than those without a lounge room. The majority of room (3 out of 4) had kitchenettes and you could ask for a microwave.

The bathrooms were a descent size and very clean.

The staff were friendly and willing to accommodate requests (e.g. more bananas at breakfast, spending money charged to the room).

The buffet breakfast was very good. There was a good range of hot and cold food will the selection of hot food changing daily. The only problem is that bread in the Middle East is very sweet (Americans wouldn't have a problem but everyone else will) and there was no bacon (the same as every else that we stayed in the Middle East).

As it was winter we didn't check out the gym or pool but I believe that if one isn't on site that you can get access.

There are a number of restaurants and shops within walking distance making dinner easy. There is a great chocolate shop that should be checked out by everyone.

We also had room service one night. The food was fine and without any real problems.

I would stay here again.

“Don't stay here if you want to go to sleep before 2am”

Days Inn Hotel & Suites

Manchester, UK

My biggest problem with this hotel was the noise from the bar/club in the basement, which is open from 9pm to 2am every day. It seems it depends on exactly where you are in the hotel as to how much of a problem this is, but if you're unlucky as some of our group were it's pretty noisy!

Aside from that it's fine - not a lot to say - it's a Days Inn. The breakfast was good, although at peak times they were slow to restock. The rooms were clean and even my single room was a reasonable size. The staff were pleasant, but complaints seemed to fall on deaf ears. Also the location is disappointing if you want to explore Amman and have limited time, as you are along way from Downtown. All in all I suspect there are better choices.

great staff, good breakfast and good air conditioning. Simple hotel, with all that you need. I would stay again. They have good security and were very attentive to our needs. Good 3 star choice.

“Big rooms, friendly staff & nice decor”

Stayed here the day before the bombing... HUGE rooms and good facilities. Better than most Days Inns in USA. Friendly staff, good buffet and great decor. Our room was a suite with a balcony...great value for the money.

“Good value”

Days Inn Hotel & Suites

This is a good value in Amman. It's about like most Day's Inns but the breakfast was fabulous!!!!!!!!!! You can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the sights and sounds (sand and cars) of the city. The cheap rooms were adequate albeit the a/c in our room blew cold all the time - it was full blast or full off. We upgraded to a one bedroom apartment - still a great value - & it was excellent. All areas were clean & service was very good - except for the gift shop - go somewhere else for a better value.
