“Nice Hotel, but”

Nice hotel and enjoyed our stay for 7 nights, clean tidy units, good pool (could be deeper though).
Only down side we found were small things like the tourist desk has no brochures or signs in english everything is in japanese
A single internet computer for a hotel with at least 200 rooms.
Needs a fan(s) in reception area when waiting for the computer (unbearably hot to us from cooler climates)
Location is excellent with a beautifull beach directly across the road
Several cheaper (for noumea) cafes outside the hotel but not the cleanest, we found the restaurants about 1 kilometre down the road behind the aquarium much cleaner with a wider choice of restaurants but more costly.

And yes New Caledonia is expensive.

We have just spent a week at the NC Nouvata Park Hotel. We booked a triple room with a pool view in the 3 star part of the hotel but were upgraded to one of the 4 star rooms.

Our room was on the 4th floor with a balcony from which we could see Duck Island, Coral Palms Island, passing cruise ships, the pool and the other accomodation blocks in the hotel. We were given a triple room with 3 single beds as requested, a bathroom with two hand basins and a large bath. The wardrobe was great with plenty of room for all of our gear and the food which we bought from the local supermarkets. The room itself was in good repair and well presented with the window between the bathroom and bedrooom causing many laughs with the raising and lowering of the curtain. For a hot shower the water needed to be run for quite a while or it was best to have a shower in the early evening. The pillows were not the best but a call to housekeeping gave us extra pillows to choose from. The pool is great and suitable for young children to adults.

Hotel staff were wonderful with the manager arranging a rental car for us and other staff members giving us information as required. Towels for the pool and for taking on excursions are avaliable from the front desk along with tourist brochures. Prices in the hair salon were comparable to home and service great. Breakfast was good with a good selection of foods but after 7 days it became monotonous. After spending time in Asia my daughter had trouble coming to grips with the fact that there were no door men opening the doors and that meals could not be ordered at the pool. The chairs in the foyer are not very comfortable and along with the tables looked a little shabby. However, I understand the hotel is being refurbished so given time these will be upgraded

Bikes can be hired from the water taxi kiosk that is about 5 mins walk down the beach front - be warned though - the seats are very hard but the traffic is easy to negoitate with designated cycle lanes making cycling a lot easier. A great and cheap way to see Noumea.

Just along from the hotel on the beach front is a new shopping centre which along with all the boutique shops has a dairy and a bakery. A supermarket is about 20mins walk from the hotel. One of the bonuses of our stay was the brie, pate and french bread - they were delicious and the willingness of the local people to help.

Overall we had a great time at this hotel and would recommend it to people based on the quality of the room, the price, location, amenties and most of all the helpful staff.

When I just first stepped into this hotel room, I feel it is really big.... The washroom is really nice and come with Jaguzzi function. Even the hotel lobby is quite simple but the hotel room is quite comfortable and the staffs here are aslo helpful..

There are a lot of shops around and the bus stop also in walking distance. The beach is just right in front of the hotel. You can see there are so many tourist scattered around especially the Japanese tourist. Of course there are many pretty too...

“A must to experience”

20/20 found this review helpful

My partner and I have just returned from New Caledonia..we had seen the reviews over a few months before we left and were a bit hesitant about the Le Pacifique/Nouvata Park comments..some were good and some were very bad..
When we arrived at the airport, then the Arc en Ciel bus stop, then at the hotel, we couldn't have been made more welcome..the staff at each place were marvellous..we roamed around the first night to look for a dairy..(needed coke etc for our Duty Free) and were so excited at the prospect of a different language..exploring streets we'd never been down before..crossing the road..haha..using really different currency..what a blast..then we watched the Petanque guys on Anse vata Beach..with their wine..their fun..their laughs..it was the beginning of a great trip...
The Hotel was awesome..we had an Ocean View Room which looked over the whole beach and the street..where all the action is...Breakfast was fantastic..every morning..we gained a few kilos..but then you didnt need to eat again till the late afternoon..book it with your hotel package..saves heaps..
Beach was great..went to the "nudey beach"..well thats what we called it....was only topless actually...but what neat people..no inhibitions..after the initial nervous visit..you get used to being topless..its great..my boobs have never looked so healthy..plus my partner loved to soak up the atmosphere too..of course..
Amedee Island is a must see..chill on the beach..feed the sharks & fish..ok..theres water snakes..just be alert..fantastic..many thanks to Taki..a Maori expat. who now lives in Plum and sings with the musicians on the boat and on the island..awesome lady..
Hop on & off bus..what a God send..takes you on the route to different places to see....(1st City stop..Musee Museum..was disappointing..grouchy lady at the front desk...smelly toilets..) so we decided to go straight to Tjibaou Cultural Centre after that...what an amazing building and educational history..well worth it...walk around the markets..get there early..real bargains at the side street shops and markets too...
Our biggest thrill was quite unintentional..on our last full day..to help us stay out of the heat for a while..we visited the Aquarium..walking distance from Nouvata Park Hotel..what an amazing place..fish & coral only found in New Caledonia..we were mesmerised by many of the creatures and colours..but most of all the HUGE tank which had sharks, fish and coral..was simply beautiful..we couldnt get our eyes off "Napoleon"..a humphead Maori Wrasse..the biggest, cutest and softest fish I have ever seen..plus he's kinda Maori like me..haha..this is a great place to visit..also cool and soothing after the heat outside.
Restaurants?? "Le Fare"..great burgers, beer and cappucinnos..
San Remo..awesome Steak & Pasta..the corner takeaway..nice steak and salads..
Overall, excellent place to visit..will do it again..didn't need to overspend either..which is a great bonus...Air Calin..absolutely awesome service and food..our Airlines could learn from them..
So..as someone else stated in a review..there's no other place like it..Happy Travels...
