The Luxor Hilton is a lovely hotel. We returned last week after seven days spent sunbathing and chilling! The weather was gorgeous, the staff were extremely friendly and the hotel grounds were clean and pretty. We were all inclusive, this was quite confusing as unlike other all inclusive resorts i have stayed at, not everything is all inclusive! There are 4 restaurants but only two are available to a.i guests. However, the food in these restaurants is cheap, and often we opted for room service which was fine. The choice in the buffet style restaurant is minimal, but it's ok. We were not visiting Egypt for its fine cuisine! We did eat outside of the hotel once which was nice...We went out for dinner with some Egyptian boys staying at our hotel! At first we were afraid of leaving the hotel for fear of being harrassed...but it was alright in the end; there was just the two of us, aged 20 and 23 so we felt quite vulnerable. The Rababa club is empty most evenings but this didn't stop us bringing down our own cds to dance to! The hotel has a calm and friendly atmosphere but it is really for people older than us, and families, however this didn't stop us from making lots of friends! The rooms are fine, balconies are tiny but apparently you can upgrade for about £90 (sterling). We had a lovely time and are planning to return next year when the hotel has been refurbished.

We read the reviews before leaving the UK and decided to book just 2 days but ended up staying for 6 as it was a great place to be, the rooms were clean with fruit, water, tea and coffee, the staff were great and the views fabulous. The food was OK if you don't mind buffet style meals. However they are closing down at the end of April for refurbishment and plan to open in October - the staff doubt that it will be open then so check nearer the time.

I have Hilton Diamond status,so I've seen a lot of Hiltons the world over and while this one seemed a bit tired and in need of an update, the staff was great and overall was an excellent bargain. Two pieces of my luggage did not arrive in Cairo and the bell staff tirelessly checked after them to see that we would be reunited with our missing bags. The rooms were scrupulously clean, so I would give it recommendation. Beware, though, the exercise room that was listed on the Hilton website did not actually exist.

hilton Luxor was a great hotel. I was a bit cautious about the trip when I'd read all the various reviews but I really had a great time. You don't notice the frayed carpets that's pretty funny to be honest. It's a great hotel, breakfast buffet is great. Dinner buffet not so good but still pleasant. Hilton is in a village and there aren't many places to go to get food other than travelling into Luxor on the shuttlebus but then you're just going to other hotels for food?! It's a safe enough place you just have to watch your handbag etc. I wouldn't advise bringing much money out. P.S. Learn to haggle I was a bit embarressed trying to haggle for the equivalent of €2 but its worth it everyones out to rip you off!! Even the hotel shop...haggle for your water it seems mad but its just the way it is over there! Enjoy your trip I did!
