“High Class, Good Location, Fantastic Breakfast Buffet”

JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

5 of 5 stars
Vancouver, BC

I had a chance to stay six nights at the JW Marriott on a business trip. I brought my wife along. It was very luxurious. The room was somewhat smaller, but apparently standard for a Hong Kong hotel. The view was nice and the location is very central with easy access to the MTR. My wife used their spa and enjoyed it very much. The most memorable thing for me was the breakfast buffet each morning at the Marriott Cafe. We opted to include it as a daily option when we booked. A bit more expensive, but it was worth it.

Having stayed at the JW marriot for 6 nights mid February 2008 I have to give it a glorious review. The rooms were spacious, with amaizng large glass window panels surrounding more than 1/2 the room. The beds were great nice and mid/firm and the bathrooms had ample room.

The hotel is VERY clean and made us feel Most comfortable and welcomed.

The Hotel has a great business lounge on the 33rd floor that if you can gain access to this concierge lounge the perks are fun and great. We enjoyed free breakfast, lunchs, snacks and dinners items and late night snacks when we were able to be at the hotel to enjoy these ammenities.

The hotel sits n a complex of 3 hotels and underneath sits an expansive mall worth going to.

If you get an oportunity to go to nicholines at the conrad hotel, this italina restaurant is quite good. The mushroom lasagna is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

The lower level supermarket of this mall is outstanding.

Grappa's Italian restaurant at this mall is OUTSTANDING- Go with the star items that are the restaurant specialities they are truly delicious.

Stanley market and Victori peak are a MUST. Skip the night market as Sanley has the same in a better environment and the scenic cab ride there are GREAT.

Arigatos Restaurant and bar arigatoshk.com is just the MOST FANTASTIC SUSHI and much much more greta for vegatarians with bean curd meats and chicken that were SPECTACULAR and if I didnt know any better would think they were real chicken and meat. The Salmon Sashimi was as soft as butter.

Enjoy this centrally located hotel.

I will be back to HK with the wife next time as this was a business trip.

ENJOY

“Rooms are small”

JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

3 of 5 stars
Hertfordshire, UK
Mar 4, 2008

Stayed at hotel after a couple of days at Hong Kong Disneyland as part of half term holiday. As a platinum marriott rewards card holder, upgraded to executive club room on 33 floor which was paid for with points. Rooms are on the small side, but otherwise very clean. Housekeeping is to a high standard. However, the rooms do not have the Marriott Revive mattresses, but use the Marriott bed linen. The beds were very hard and not a very comfortable sleep and it didn't get better after 5 nights.

Great location for getting to the MTR which is fast clean and very reasonably priced.

Swimming pool was tested by my son, who found it very plesant and very quiet.

Club lounge had great views, with several food presentations per day. In the evening they would often put on special drinks evenings. Afternoon tea was a particular treat each afternoon.

The staff were very pleasent and very helpful.

Pacific Place is a very high end shopping centre, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton with eye watering prices. Recommend the Thai Basil restaurant, excellent food and service. Avoid Zen's very expensive and poor food and service. Great take away salads from the Great Food Hall. If you have the time, do cross the border to Shenzhen. Very different feel to Hong Kong which needs to be experienced.

“Great business hotel”

JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

5 of 5 stars
Melbourne

It had been a few years since I stayed at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong. The office had moved back into that part of town and returning to the hotel was a real pleasure.

The rooms are JW Marriott global standard - very comfortable and in excellent condition. The staff were attentive and most helpful.Nothing was ever a problem. Dinner suggestions were first class. Small errands were handled promptly. The food in the hotel was excellent and good value. The breakfast buffet could keep you going all day.

Being located on top off a major shopping centre that stays open til 10pm and MTR railroad station was a real plus. So too was the fact that you can walk to most appointments on covered walkways out of the traffic and the rain.

“Hong Kong”

A few days after New Year I stayed in the Marriott.

The Hotel was very calm and availability of the staff helped to give an overall very good opinion of the stay. Very smiling and helpful, excellent level of English.
The Hotel itself is still very new or at least recently renovated.
Rooms aren't spacious (it is Hong Kong after all) but beautifully furnished. Facilities are of a high class standard, not a single issue with services or anything else.

Location is almost perfect for short stay, withing 2/3 MRT station from all interesting shopping/eating places and the station is just under the Hotel, inside a very beautiful Mall.

The Hotel is not in the HK Island so if you go there to work, consider a 30mn taxi ride and ask the driver driver to take the New Tunnel, it will cost you a few more dollars but save 1h...

To go to the Airport from this Hotel is quite easy also, I suggest the transfer to the Airport Express station, 1h max, very easy.

An overall very pleasant experience in HK.
This City has improved a lot these past years to re attract Tourists and business Travellers, as well as expats that slowly disappeared since the 1997 Chinese "handover".
