We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Renaissance Hotel, Kowloon and thought i would share my thoughts with other travellers.
Firstly, we found the check in process to be very unorganised. There was 3 of us travelling and we had booked only 1 room through our travel agent. However, on arrival we were told that 2 rooms had been booked and they were not expecting 3 of us? The staff then seeemed very confused however they did eventually get it sorted out. Then they offered to upgrade us to a suite room for a small fee of course, which we found quite rude! However this was the only negative to our stay!
We found the rooms to be very clean and tidy and the housekeeping service was terrific. We loved the night turn down service which included chocolates on our pillows! We stayed in a delux room and found it to be quite large much to our surprise. The bathroom even contained a seperate bath and shower! The hotel and rooms are of an older style and could do with a revamp. The hotel at times did smell a little musty. The pool area was also very average and needed some work.
The location of the hotel is fantastic the MTR, harbour, avenue of stars, new world shopping centre is all right on your door step!
The breakfast was great with a wide range of choices to suit everyones tastes, I loved the warm waffles with chocolate sauce!
On our last day it was my dads birthday and the hotel sent a beautiful cake to our room for all of us to enjoy, which was such a lovely touch.
Overall we had a very enjoyable experience and would definately stay at this hotel again.
