We just loved our four nights in a superior harbour view room. The service was absolutely excellent with no request being too much trouble. This hotel is a little off the main drag which proved to be sheer bliss after returning from the unbelievable noise, lights and crowds of downtown Kowloon. This hotel has the most relaxing, spacious and spotless rooftop pool - a real treat to recharge batteries. We even received a complimentary massage and because we stayed four nights also enjoyed the wonderful complimentary breakfast. The al la carte menu in their Promenade restaurant finished up becoming a favorite restaurant - huge choice and every dish delicious. (We usually avoid eating in hotel restaurants). Although the rooms are typical of Hong Kong in being small, the wardrobes and bathroom are spacious with the best shower we've ever enjoyed. This is a great value hotel with very comfortable beds and pillows, spotlessly clean and very conducive to enjoying a lovely blissful nights sleep.

The hotel has huge public areas, enormous reception block, restaurants, but incredible small rooms. Have never seen anything like it. No place to even put my suitcase. And I could literally not sit behind my desk without touching my bed.

Airco was too cold, no possibility to switch off. Breakfast is a mass event, good choice. The most cosy place is the hotel bar in the evening, we enjoyed a great lady piano player singing songs upon request.

Pool is outdoor roof type. Extremely cold water, but a sign told us that soon the water would be heated. Very good, luxury and pricy health and massage centre, with excellent customer care.

Surroundings: a bit too much outside of where things are happening, one needs to go with shuttle all the time.

All in all: there must be better ones in Hongkong.

This was our second visit in Hongkong I was amaze with our hotel this time. My family & I spent 7 nights at Harvour Plaza Metropolis it's like home away from home. We have the family suite located at 9th floor, with well equipt kitchen, living room w/ tv , 1 bedroom w/ tv and harvourview on the window, nice and clean bathroom and nothingelse I could think off total rating.. EXCELLENT....... All the staff are very helpful especially the chinese guy named JOHN everytime we waited for the shuttle his always there greeting us and giving some instructions where to go, how to get there, where are the good places to see, where to shop...etc.
For those who are planning to visit hongkong HARVOUR PLAZA METROPOLIS HOTEL is the hotel I recommend.

When we checked in were told we were being upgraded to a harbour view room. We then found out that it was a smoking room. The room itself had a really poor view of the harbour, so we asked not to be upgraded, just provided with the non smoking room which we had booked, to be told there were non available. The whole floor was smoking and it was really unpleasant. I wish I had been more insistent and would encourage others to be.

I certainly would not pay any extra for the "harbour view". The location itself was a bit far out, but the shutlle bus to the sister hotel was very convenient as long as you don't want to stay out very late.

The breakfast was really good, with a huge variety of food.

The room itself was small (which seems normal for hong kong), although essentially comfortable. Internet connection is available in the rooms although not cheap.

I think it's probably possible to find a better hotel for the money, although would stay here again if I had to.
