Having read all the recent reviews regarding the service and noise I was a little apprehensive regarding our stay.

It was our first visit to Singapore and we had planned a 3 night stop over on our way to Oz.

On arrival, any concern I had quickly vanished. From the moment we arrived the service we received was impeccable - the staff were well presented and attentive. Our family room (1 king size with adjoining twin) situated on the corner of the 17th floor was first class. The buffet breakfast would satisfy even them most ravenous of guests and more than set us up for our days' exploring.

We did the 'tourist-thing' and visited Raffles; had dinner at Clarke Quay (went up by boat from the Merlion Park); had a day at Sentosa and also a 'flight' on the new Singapore Flyer (booked online before we left the UK).

There is quite a bit of construction going on with a new casino being built across the bay plus the changes and additions ready for the night-time F1 Grand Prix in September but it did not dampen our spirits.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Singapore and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a visit.

At check-in the staff were gracious and helpful. We loved our rooms (family with 2 children) one had a King sized bed and the other had 2 singles. Breakfast was buffet style and would satisfy the fussiest of eaters - the range of multi-cultural foods was amazing!
The swimming pool was fantastic and very exotic! A welcome relief from the heat/humidity of Singapore.
We were fairly central to most activities and sightseeing locations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marina Mandarin

Nice hotel with very convenient location as several shopping centers are connected to it, plus access to the convention center which is located across the street. Nice rooms, but surprisingly a little noisy. I was on the 17th floor and I can hear the traffic in the morning. The only other surprise is that on the first night there was a turn-down service, but not for the other 3 nights that I was there. A little puzzling...otherwise a nice hotel to pass the time in Singapore.

Stopped off at this hotel for 3 nights en route to Australia. Was recommended by our travel agent and a good value deal to boot.

We stayed in an Executive floor room. Theseoccupy the top 2 floors of the hotel. Separate check-in desk at Reception followed an individual guided tour of facilities by a member of staff dressed in traditional Singapore dress. Nice touch !

Breakfast served in an exclusive room on the floor itself. Also evening drinks and snacks served between 5pm to 8pm. Light refeshments available at any time of day up to 10pm.

Rooms were spacious with lovely amenities. Large LCD TV and usual branded toiletries in a well laid out bathroom.

Free internet access also available in the Exec lounge to catch up on home news, check-in for next flight and so on.

The hotel is situated directly opposite the Convention Centre whcih hosts all sorts of exhibitions. Flower show and a Sony exhibiton were on when we were there. Also within the Centre is the Hippo Bus Tour terminus. The daily tourist bus that gides you round the city. Great value for a ticket that lasts for 48 hours.

Interconnected to the Centre and the Hotel is a huge shopping complex with every type of shop imginable. It also leads into Singapore's unique underground warren of tunnels between buildings. Great to get out of the humid atmosphere outside.

For first time visitors (as we were), the hotel is also only a 5-10 minute walk from Raffles Hotel. An absolute 'must visit' to sample the delights of the original birth place of the Singapore Sling in the Long Bar. These poor guys that work there have the patience of saints with all the questions they are asked about the drink but they do it with courteousness and a smile on their face. An experience not to be missed.
