The Pan Pacific is a fantastic hotel. My wife and I stayed there for 4 nights and were really impressed with the service, cleanliness and comfort. We booked a standard room which was on the 8th floor (I wanted something higher, but oh well) and the room was huge. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the swimming pool which itself is massive. Room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The desk has an excellent chair - so comfortable to sit in while reading the daily newspaper. When you check in, you are given your choice of 5 or 6 newpapers to have delivered to your room everyday. Nice touch.

Many people have already commented on the hotel atrium which is beautiful. Its really cool to stand in the middle of the lobby and stare straight up. There was a yellow Pagani Zonda displayed in the lobby as well - something for the fellows to drool over!

We didn't eat at any of the restaurants there as they are pretty pricey, but I did order a beer from the poolside. Couldn't resist the temptation but at $16 SGD, was probably the most expensive beer I've ever bought. Was worth it though.

Hotel staff were very friendly and professional and unobtrusive. One of the front desk staff (Yuko, I believe) was terrific. When we mentioned that it was our honeymoon, she arranged for a fantastic chocolate cake, a platter of fresh fruit and a bouquet of roses to be sent to our room. It was so thoughtful.

One thing I should mention, if you are coming by the MRT, City Hall Station to the hotel is a bit of a hike. Most of it is indoors and you have to wind your way through several shopping and convention centers. If you have heavy bags, I would recommend a taxi. They're pretty cheap in Singapore. But for getting around for sightseeing, the MRT is great.

This hotel is simply fantstic. It boasts an excellent location with minutes o the bustling city center and shopping close by. The room was not bad, pretty nice, nothing fancy like a W or Westin though - but very god for the price we paid. If breakfast is not included in your room rate then do ot go into the hotel restaurant to have brekkie as it is expensive at S$42 per head. Rather go to Starbucks or other nice breakfast eateries nearby.

My flight comes in a bit early around 8AM and the quick cab ride to the Pan Pacific got me into the hotel lobby around 9AM.

As it was early, I was notified by the front desk that my room was not ready and promptly invited me to the lobby lounge/bar for a complimentary drink while the hotel setting up my room. One cup of cappuccino later and I was invited to check out my room.

The room was a good size room with a large King bed. I have a nice view to the Marina and can see the Merlion from my window. The bed was comfortable and clean. Probably one of the best hotel room that I have seen so far aside from the Singapore Grand Hyatt.

The walk-in bathroom is a large size with separate shower and bathtub. The room is stocked with standard amenities of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. A complimentary shoeshine service is also available as part of the room. There are live band music every night from 7PM-11PM in the lobby and since the Pan Pacific is an atrium-type hotel, if you like to sleep early and have issues with sounds, you might want a high-floor room. There are bird-chirping sound in the atrium in the morning but I think they are just sounds playing from loudspeaker than real live birds.

Turned-down service is done everyday around 6PM. The service is attentive with an accent on security. There are always several security guards manning the entrance from outside to the connecting entrance from the shopping complex nearby.

The location is a bit off from Orchard road but it has good way to get on the freeway to the airport.

What a great Hotel. We stayed here at the end of March 07 for three nights. Having travelled from the UK with Singapore Airlines we used our 'Boarding Pass Privelage' to book an offer direct with the hotel which included breakfast. We arrived direct from the airport at 08:00 hours and asked if there was 'any likelyhood' of checking in early as check in time is 3 pm. We were given our room at 10.45am.
Breakfast at the hotel is buffet style with an extensive range of foods to suit all. We were on the 19th floor and had an excellent view of the river and city district. Yes we could hear the music and singing, but it ends before midnight, so why not go down to the bar and enjoy? Alcohol in Singapore IS expensive especially wine, but then you do not see any drunkeness on the streets.
The location of the 'Pan Pac' is excellent for the Marina Shopping Centre and the MRT. The MRT is an underground train system which is Very safe and cheap.
The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and have very comfortable large beds. There is a business centre on a higher floor which allows you use of a computer and Internet for a small charge.
There is a 'tour desk' on the 2nd floor where you can book many different trips including the Night Safari. Don't miss Swimming with the Dolphins at Sentosa Island ( Book at .'Underwaterworld' before you go for only £50 each.)
