My husband & I stayed at Amara for a total of 7 days and in that time our bedsheets were not changed because we failed to put the little green clover leaf on the bed, indicating we want our sheets to be changed. On the backside of this little leaf there is another instruction. Leave all your towels you want changed in the bathtub. Tourists & businessmen are often too busy to read this little love note left by housekeeping.

For a couple of days we had no maid service even after we called housekeeping & reception. There was mold around corners of the bathtub. The room wasn't vacuumed the days we were there.

Amara is a great place to stay except for poor and lazy housekeeping.

We stayed at The Amara for 2 nights over the weekend. It was their Deluxe Room with the option of a possible King bed. The room had a peaceful and calming effect with its minimalist Balinese/Zen decor.

The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower stall. the vanity mirror in the bathroom had spotlights around it and the complimentary toiletries were packaged in a nice Amara tin. The King bed was comfortable, clean and white- no ugly flowery bed sheets.

All these little touches made my stay at the Amara wonderful. Their buffet breakfast was good too. The only spoiler was the view from the room: overlooked ugly murals on the apartments across the hotel.

Other than that, Amara was relaxing and great :)
