“Not a 5 Star Hotel”

We were here in April as part of our cruise with NCL. The cruise was great but the hotel they chose was not. The location is very inconvenient and it is a long walk to find other restaurants. So we were forced to eat at the Sheraton at extreme prices. The breakfast buffet made me sick. We asked about tours and they would only tell us about the tours they sell. We found most of the people working there were not helpful to us and quite a few could not speak English. The room that we were in was very plain and basic. The room had two beds but only one chair. Who likes to watch tv while sitting on a bed? The windows had no curtains, only shades. They did have extra blankets and pillows in the closet but no robes. I would never stay here again.

“Stay away”

Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center

The first 2 rooms they gave me I could not stay in because the chemical odor from a recent carpet cleaning affected my breathing. Finally they gave me another room.

Rooms are clean and showers were awesome after in the Andes. Food was overpriced and not worth the effort. Location a bit out of the way if you want to walk around to other restaurants/venues and teh staff is very helpful.

Personally, I think that this Sheraton is not expensive but I prefer to pay more and be in a really better place. You can find better choices in Santiago de Chile like The Grand Hyatt or the Ritz Carlton.

This was an interesting experience clouded by the fact that we could not access our rooms until 5.45pm advertised check in and listed was 3 pm. We went for Buffet Sunday evening meal, were given the wine list 3 couples, we choose what wines we would like from the list, each one was not available? why have a wine list. Meal was very nice, but service bordered on the bizarre plates almost whipped from beneath your cutlery before finished eating however you couldnt get your bill. Anyway room fine, view nice. Went to buffet breakfaxt next morning, plenty of lovely juices, no glasses still coming, plenty of bowls, cereal needs to be refilled, likewise mixtures of hot food either plenty or none. A two slice toaster with 3 loaves of sliced bread and bread to slice yourself, for a restaurant area of at least 300 people. Choices were all a good variety if they were available at the one time. Staff did not seem to have any idea of service, I was told one momento for my cup of coffee, this was still coming when we left, officious but not efficient. Very strange and it was a talking point of many whilst sitting around a lovely pool. Somehow it just doesnt get it together.

“Luxury if you like that”

Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center

We stayed a night at the Sheraton, because we had an overbooked flight with Delta Airlines. So, for a travelvoucher of 600 dollars we could stay an extra night in Santiago and got a room with 3 times food in the Sheraton. Normally not a place where we would stay, but nice for a night ofcourse! It´s luxury, big outdoor poolscene with comfortable sunbeds, lots of restaurants, gym, sauna, massage, internetcafé etc etc. The food was buffetstyle for us, really nice, best carrotcake I´ve ever ate!
The room we stayed in was probably a standard room, but was really good and clean with big tvscreen.
The hotel is big, lots of people, so not really a quiet place, mostly Americans and most of them over 55 of age.
We enjoyed our stay, but hè, who wouldn´t for free?!

“This is NOT a 5-star Hotel Anymore”

Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center

I have stayed at this hotel many times starting about 10 years ago. Back then it was a real gem with amazing service. Since then each time it is more and moe run down even after so-called upgrades. Last night I had a "deluxe" room that didn't deserve more than 3 stars and it cost me more than $300 to check out (one night). The carpet was filthy. The towels are worn thin (and there were only two of them available). The toiletries were basic. The outdoor buffet breakfast was so so. The staff beyond the front door were almost invisible. Now, I will concede the bed was better than good, but overall very poor value for the money spent. I know for a fact their staff are not well-paid so with such a shabby room the high price doesn't add up. I will definitely try a different hotel in Santiago on my next visit.

Keep in mind I am not talking about the Sheraton Tower. I've stayed there too (for even more money) and would definitely rate their rooms higher.
