We spent 2 nights here at the end of a 7 night cruise on the Galapagos Explorer II. This is an incredibly charming place. Rooms are basic, but spotlessly clean. Loved the balconies overlooking the pool, restaurant and Pelican Bay. The "resident" birds and animals were great - blue-footed booby, 2 great blue herons, Julianne, the one-winged pelican, several iguanas, including the dominant male who wrestled with intruders, and the sea lion who came around when the fishing boats came in. This would be a fantastic place to enjoy nature for those who aren't very active - it all comes to you! Great place to enjoy a bit slower pace than on the ship before heading home. The included breakfast was good, as was lunch in the glass-walled dining room at the water's edge. The only reason we didn't eat dinner there either night was that an OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel) group was there and pretty much filled the place up. Several good restaurants within walking distance. We took a water taxi one day to check out the Finch Bay Hotel. Very nice place, but I preferred our location and views right in town.
