We stayed for three nights in July 2007. This is a really nice hotel, well located and only 10 minutes walk to Larco Mar shopping centre. Cafe Cafe there did very good food.
Our room overlooked the street, but it wasn't noisy, it was well furnished and comfortable.
There was free internet access, which was very useful and very quick compared to other hotels in Peru.
The breakfast was very good - good choice and plenty of hot milk to dilute the very strong coffee.
We left two suitcases at the hotel whilst we did the rest of our tour of Peru and this presented no problems at all.
We left a camera on a city tour bus and didn't realise until the next day. The staff were very helpful in making phone calls for us and arranging a taxi for us to collect it. They were also very helpful in making arrangements for us to visit the zoo.
We'd stay there again.

The Jose Antonio Hotel in Lima was not the best, nor the worst. It was clean, efficient, breakfast buffet was adequate, and the bar was pleasant. The hotel was located in the upscale Mira Flores area, and close to the mall, many restaurants, shops, and banks. While Lima was not my favorite city in Peru, it did have a few charming areas of interest such as the historical district, the Rosa Nautica Restaurant, and Love Park.

Stopped here on our first night in Peru after a long flight via Amsterdam. We were part of a 21 day EXODUS tour to Peru and as such we had no choice over our hotels.

The hotel is clean and tidy, the room that we had was very large, with seperate sleeping and sitting rooms. The bathroom was excellent with a good shower (mind you any shower is good after 13 hours on a 777).

Staf were pleasent and helpful.

We were told that the area was safe to wander around in, but all we did was go to the little shop down the road for water, being too tired to explore.

The food and prices in the hotel restraunt were excellent. Four of us ate for about £25 with beer and dessert.

The only down side was the health and safety, which we soon found was the norm in Peru. The photo I have attached was in our room, you could open the window fully and literally step out!! You would then of course fall 5 stories onto the roof of the dwellings below.

IF YOU HAVE KIDS BE VERY CAREFUL!!

These windows are very common in Peru. This hotel even had them on the stairs, one false step and you could plunge out of the window to the pavement below.

All in all, an excellent first night hotel, I would reccomend it to others.

Hotel was in a safe area of Lima.

Pool was at the sister hotel across the road and is an outdoor pool. We were there in August and it was too cold to swim. There were also no obvious changing facilities.

Free internet, but only one terminal, so you had to wait.

Room was clean and comfortable.

Easy walk to Larcomar.

Hotel staff were very helpful with bus and taxi bookings and providing advice.
