Large / very modern "boutique style" rooms. Wonderfully comfortable beds. Excellent food (and wine) at the restaurant. Free internet. Faultless customer service. And quite reasonable (£100 a night). Couldn't ask for more.

Tirana was rather depressing - not much to see or do. Have the communists really left?

The history museum was excellent though.

I stayed at the Tirana Sheraton in Mar 07 for a week while on business. I have read the other reviews and agree with them, so I will not repeat what other travellers have said. Bottom line, it is a very nice hotel, about 15 minutes walk from the center of town. The room, restaurant, staff, etc, are all what you would expect from a Sheraton property. A couple of points

There is no gift shop in the hotel, so if you want to send a postcard home (like I like to do), ask to front desk on how to get to the nearest shop that sells tourist items. There is a small tourist shop (which is full of things tourists would want to buy) about 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel, but it is hard to find, so ask. For stamps and mailing, you give your postcards to the front desk (with money) and they send someone to the post office to mail your cards. In my humble opinion, the hotel needs a gift shop.

The Sheraton is connected to a nice "mall". The mall has a ok grocery store, bars and 3 resturants plus a bunch of other stores.. This is great, from my perspective, as we ate Italian style pizza at very reasonable prices without leaving the hotel grounds and the grocery store has Pepsi, water, chips, etc.

In closing, this is the only hotel I have stayed at in Tirana, but I will stay there again, why mess with success?

A very nice hotel situated at one of the best areas of Tirana. Offers an excellent view of the city and allows one to be within walking distance from various central points of the city.
The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, room service is quite good, and breakfast offered is satisfactory.
An important element is the existence of high speed internet (1Mbps), which is quite an achievement in the context of the condition of Albanian telecommunications. However, the charges are quite high.
Overall, is a good choice, particularly for business travelling in Tirana, offering most services one would ask for and a comfortable and relaxing environment to remove the stress and fatigue from a hard day's work.

Spent 3 weeks at the Shearaton in Tirana on business - very nice rooms and the super comfortable beds certainly help. Free internet in the lobby and the lines to use the 2 computers usually weren't long. Decent bar with very overpriced drinks. Good food in the restaurant. The hotel is something of a mini-shopping complex, with an unaffiliated cheap pizza place, a wine bar, and a few stores. The best thing is the location - short walk from lots of restaurants, bars, main sites. If you're there on business, gov't buildings are not far and there is ample parking at the hotel. The staff was friendly, courteous, and English-speaking.
