“Nice Hotel, in Ukranian Style”

The Premiere Palace may be the nicest hotel in Kiev. The staff are friendly and helpful, the lobby and common areas are nicely done, and the location, in the center, close to all attractions and shopping is hard to beat. If you are a fan of western chain hotels, this may not be the place for you, as it seems designed to cater more to the "high-roller" mentality, than the foreign tourist, with its in-house strip club and casino, but, of course, you don't have to partake of those "amenities." Reminded me a little of a throwback to earlier post-Soviet days. As in most of Eastern Europe, smoking is prevalent in the lobby and public areas, but non-smoking rooms are available.

Agree with some others, that if you are on the company's dime, this is probably your best bet. On your own money, there are probably better deals to be had, but it is a nice hotel.

“Very comfortable, nice location”

Top of the line for Ukraine. Nice rooms (non-smoking available), fairly quiet, reasonable space, quality amenities. Average TV/video selection. Very pricey laundry service. Above average breakfast buffet at nearly $30 US. Smoking pervasive in lobby and lounges. Lobby bar runs out of beer and tells patrons "it's finished". Cabernet show. Convenient location to Kreshatik boulevard shops, restaurants, bars (Shato and Violas) and METRO. Impressive pool/spa/gym/sauna. Parking problematic with clogged streets. Room Internet access (wired) and business center. Friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff.

“Top notch 5 star hotel in Kiev”

I was a bit surprised to find the lack of well known US hotel chains in Kiev. I did a google search for "5 star hotel Kiev" and came up with the Premier Palace Hotel.

Decided to stay there and wasn't disappointed. Fantastic rooms, great breakfast buffet, fantastic location, friendly staff.

If you're going to be traveling on your company's dime - then this is the hotel for you.

There is a fantastic authentic Ukrainian restaurant in the park right by this hotel that I can recommend as well.

If you're going to be traveling there as a Western tourist - this hotel may be too expensive, it would be best to check out the Radisson SAS hotel which was half the price of this one and was great as well.

“Good Hotel”

I spent two nights at this hotel.
I found the staff helpfull and efficient.
English was widely spoken.

The room was a 'King room' which had a high ceiling and was spacious, clean and quiet.
The large double bed was very comfy.
The hotel was expensive (£159 pn) even after a 'special' weekend rate.
I only ate the breakfast, which had a wide choice of foods.
Eggs were fried or made into an omlette before ones own eyes.

The 'working girls' in the 'caberet' are out of site on the 8th floor.
All the other bars I visited allowed you to have an undisturbed drink.

Taxi from the airport is $50.
I ignored the clammer and went straight to an 'official' taxi booth in the arrivals hall.

At the hotel always go outside and take a taxi from the next street as it is at least half the hotel rate!
Same applies for the trip back to airport.

Most security should be discreet but there were far to many 'goons' strolling around inside.
In my opinion this detracted from the overall ambience of this hotel.
I think some of the 'goons' were with guests rather than the hotel. Either way I found them obtrusive and because they were so visible, very much like something out of an old George Raft movie,I certainly would not recommend them for personal protection!
