I travel to Central America frequently and am consistently impressed with the Sheraton Presidente. This year, we stayed on the fourth floor (executive level) and were impressed by the service and offerings in this lounge. Similar to the Westin Camino Real in Guatemala, but with resort amenities.

The pool is enormous with waterfalls - in fact the grounds of the hotel are perfectly sized to allow you a full day's enjoyment. In San Salvador - a fascinating and vibrant if noisy and congested city - this hotel is a rare and welcome respite from it all. Greenery is welcomed!

We stayed up late, long past the closing hours of the bar, and continued to be served - a waiter would check on us at the pool. You don't expect this level of professionalism and service in Central America - I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in San Salvador.

The Princess, Radisson, and Holiday Inn do not have the peaceful location and spacious grounds that the Sheraton does. Trust me! (The Princess has a small pool in a concrete enclosure; the Holiday Inn is located out of town on a busy street.)

You won't be disappointed at the Sheraton El Salvador.
