Helnan Palestine belongs to a danish hotel chain. The hotel is located just outside Alexandria. You should know that Alexandria has a 20 kilometres promenade!!Yes 20 kilometres, amazing. The good thing about Helnan Palestine is that the hotel is located inside beautiful gardens in the royal area of the city. Overall impression good. Pool is small but for a short stay ok. Rooms have a good size.
Other options would be the Sofitel which is located downtown, but no pool. The Metropole, an old hotel, but really nice, but also without a pool. The Four Seasons will open soon.
Alexandria itself isn t that interesting but if you combine with Cairo it s ok.

This hotel has by far the best location in Alexandria. Even though it's only a couple of miles from downtown, it seems a planet away from chaotic Alexandria due to its exclusive location inside a beautiful landscaped garden area and private beach.

The staff were friendly and accommodating and I'm surprised by the previous poster's comments about them being rude!! He's definitely not talking about the staff I've met!!!

The rooms are nice and bright with balconies overlooking the beach and the food especially the seafood at their restaurant superb. Their grilled jumbo shrimp tastes heavenly.

Our vacation in Egypt that included 3 days in Alexandria at the Palestine was almost derailed because the front desk refused to honor our prepaid reservation. The travel agent in New York finally got it straightened out, but I was very disappointed with the treatment by the hotel staff. The rooms are quite nice, with a view of the sea and lots of lovely old wood. The gardens are extremely beautiful, and hotel guests do not have to pay for admission, as those outside the hotel do.

Good 5 stars hotel in excellent location. Helnan Palestine is located inside Montazah Gardens, not in the centre of Alexandria, but a very quite and nice place.
All rooms have great view on the bay.
The restaurants serves a great variety of food (buffet dinner) and the quality is very good.
Excellent breakfast.
Enjoyed very much my stay!
