“A sight to see”

We left Cairo and went on a day trip to Alexandria where we saw Danial mosque, Roman amphitheatre, Fort Quaitby, Amud el sawari (Pompei’s Pillar), the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the English tour at the Alexandrina Bibliotheca and then ended off with Montazah Palace Gardens. Would've liked to have gone to the Greco-Roman museum, but it was closed for renovations that day.

The amphitheatre is certainly a sight to see - the structure is so typically Roman that it's just awesome to see it all the way in Egypt. It's pretty magnificent. There are also statues and artefacts on display within the compound.
