We stayed at the hotel in the end of January 2008 as part of our African vacation booked with [--] (a great company which we also HIGHLY recommend).
The hotel was a real surprise. Botswana was more developed than we anticipated, and the hotel was a goregeous facility which blended in nicely with the Chobe National Park.
Our room was nicely decorated with a vaulted, thatched ceiling, comfortable beds, a shower and tub, and was air conditioned. The weather got very hot in Botswana during our visit but the air conditioning, despite the vaulted ceilings, always kept the room quite comfortable. The vervet monkeys which regularly visted our balcony were also fun to watch.
Kasane isn't really a happening town, but does offer two supermarkets (one a 5 minute walk from the hotel). of course the real reason to visit is the national park. We participated in four safaris while there: two early in the morning, and two sunset cruises (all included in our package).
The guides for our tours were quite knowledgable and willing to answer questions about anything. The hotel's food was not amazing, but was quite acceptable (chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, cafeteria style buffets, etc.). If considering Kasane and Chobe National Park, consider the Safari Lodge... you will NOT be disappointed!
