We stayed at the Lotus Angkor Hotel for three nights in January 2008. The hotel is showing its age, but the lobby and rooms are quite comfortable. On our first night we stayed in a room on the first floor, near the lobby. A noisy group of tourists at the bar kept us awake into the night. There was also an annoying plumbing noise (it sounded like water going through pipes) coming from the lobby restroom next door. The hotel staff put us in a nice, quiet second floor room for the next two nights. The major problem with this hotel is it’s location on the Airport Road, a good distance from everything. There are no restaurants nearby, and even if you wanted to walk, the Airport Road is busy, dirty, dangerous and not very pleasant to walk on. We took tuk-tuks when we left the hotel. The breakfast, included with the room, is good, and served in a pleasant dining room with a nice view of the pool and garden (which was being renovated while we were there). The staff was pleasant and helpful, especially when we had to make last minute arrangements for a boat to Battambang. The hotel has one computer with extremely slow Internet access.
