“Truly A Knockout!!!”

Palm Village Resort

May 1, 2008

Our rather hard to please family of five stayed at this fantastic resort for two nights on our short adventure to Siem Reap - and they ALL agreed it was the best place we stayed in on our whole trip across Asia!!!
The individual bungalows were just magic, the pool was so relaxing after a hard hot day exploring the incredible temples, the gardens were tropical and gorgeous, and the food was excellent - we even had a packed breakfast ready for us to take to the airport for our early morning departure!
Staff was excellent, and the price was hard to believe
Not a single bad thing to say - - it's a truly wonderful experience!!!
This place IS Cambodia - a knockout

“Absolutely Wonderful!”

Palm Village Resort

Apr 22, 2008

I booked this hotel based on the pictures on the website. I thought it looked like a wonderful retreat and the price was better than most of the hotels on many different travel sites. I was a little apprehensive that it might be a litte too good to be true. But, I was very very wrong.
We arrived at the Siem Reap airport and were picked up free of charge. The resort is absolutley gorgeous. The paths between the cabins are covered in tropical flowers and trees, many of them with fresh fruit. The pool is under a mango tree.
The rooms are individual cabins. They have the most comfortable beds I have slept in while in Asia. Each has an A/C you can control and a ceiling fan. Even though we went during the hot season, we were cool.
The service is great and breakfast is included in the rooms- you can have it at the main area, by the pool or in your room. I really recommend the Khmer food- they have a great noodle soup and the Khmer BBQ is the best I ever had. Plus, the fruit is so fresh, they go pick it after you order it!
They do have internet access for the guests and a pool table. It was very relaxing to go back to the hotel after a long day at the temples and swim, play pool and just relax.

The hotel is not in the main city and is off the beaten track. I loved it because you got to see a bit of local color. Plus, it was very quiet at night and the stars are amazing. As you sleep, the only noise you hear is the sound of the chirping geckos and frogs. I like that, though I understand that many people do not. You will see them in the evening in the main area since it is typical Khmer and it open to the outside. (Keep your door closed and you will not have a problem with them in your room.)

The only possible negative I could even say about this hotel is that since it is a little off the beaten path, you cannot just walk outside and wave down a driver. You will have to arrange it with the front desk, though it was very inexpensive- just $12 a day for all day.

If I go back to Siem Reap, I don't plan on even looking around, just booking this hotel again.

“Wonderful stay”

Palm Village Resort

new york

I was in Palm Village for 10 days and absolutely loved it. The place is a heaven: 16 separated wooden cabins inside a wide fence with a beautiful garden and organic vegetables all around them. The cabins are spotless, and have cable TV, private bathrooms, hot water, bottled water, beautiful clean sheets and even a T-shirt for the guests! The staff is friendly and the place is managed and owned by Khmers. The cabins are linked together and to the dining hall (open dining hall) with little trails through the garden. Free pool table available. There are fountains and even a cool swimming pool. The place has also a tower from which you have great views of the countryside while sipping a tea on the sofa. They offer massages for just a few dollars and the breakfast is huge (include in the price). The food is really good, too. they can arrange transportation and guides and buy tickets for you (boat, bus, etc.). The only downside is that it's away from the center, so you will have to use them to go to Siem Reap Center. It worked perfectly for me, since I really wanted to be away from the center anyway. It's quiet and relaxed. I was there really for several days and they excelled every expectation I had. I hired their drivers/guides and they were all very reliable, professional and pleasurable to spend time with. I don't think I could say enough of this place.

“Great price and off the beaten track”

Palm Village Resort

Tokyo, Japan
Apr 5, 2008

The Palm village is a great value, the only downside being it is about 20 minutes from town (or anything else). But, each traveler has a separate, very spacious bungalow with AC and hot water. There's a great pool, and the food is quite good. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. There was never any problem getting a tuk tuk or car or guide. We even had a driver waiting to pick us up at the aiport.

    • Disliked — The distance to town is definitely a drawback
