this place works on a great premise, selling itself as a hostel for couples who want a break from dorm rooms and a bit of privacy.
for the most part, it succeeds. the rooms are big, with good beds, en suite bathroom (and an actual bath to have a soak in!) and TV. it's in a quiet area of town but still only five minutes walk from the main drags. the staff are very friendly and helpful and will bend over backwards to help you, providing breakfast to suit your timetable which generally involves early starts if you're going to torres del paine.
we paid 25000 Chilean pesos per night for a double room.
there are (as always) a few drawbacks:
1. the walls are paper thin. on our last night before a 6am start we had very noisy neighbours (a couple with a kid) and you can hear pretty much everything
2. laundry service: good but expensive (8000 pesos for a full load)
3. kitchen: the hostel is also the house for the family that run the place. the small kitchen available for use by travellers is actually the kitchen they cook and eat in so you feel a bit like you're imposing on them as you heat up your pasta sauce as they sit behind you having their evening meal.
but otherwise... really good!
