“Cool Hotel”

Cabo de Hornos Hotel

We enjoyed this hotel. I didn't really know what to expect as there is very little information on their website. It was very difficult to get a reply from them while trying to book by internet, i resorted to phoning them but also encountered language problems, with much perseverance on my part i managed to secure a booking.
Anyway despite the poor communication, the hotel is great. It is located right on the main square. It has a very impressive lobby/bar/restaurant, lots of stone and wood and a very good breakfast. we had a view over the main square which is hugely entertaining to watch. The square is a hive of activity, people congregate there to chat, socialise, skateboard and generally hang out. There is a craft market and tourist office. It is inhabited by a pack of dogs that don't look like strays but chase motorbikes, fight with each other and bark all night long.
The rooms in the hotel are pretty standard, but spotless and well appointed.

“Just wonderful”

This is a great hotel, in an amazing town. When we walked into the lobby we felt as if we were back in NYCity! It has a very dramatic lobby, lounge and restaurant that speaks well of the entire charming town of Punta Arenas. The space has lots of natural stone and glass, yet the space still has a warm feeling. Stayed one night before sailing the Straits of Magellan, and one night afterwards, so we had two different rooms... they both were delightful. The hotel has been completely renovated and it really shows in the lovely large rooms and beautifully appointed bathrooms. There are all the expected top-drawer amenities, super lush comfy beds and spectacular views. One room faced the lovely town park, the other was a corner room which gave us vistas of both the town and the harbor. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not overly so, which I actually appreciate. Punta Arenas and the entire area is becoming more popular, which I think is great. It's a secret spot that will not disappoint, and neither will your stay at Cabo de Hornos.

We stayed one night at this hotel prior to travelling north to the Torres del Paine national Park. It was not at all what we had been expecting, it was so much nicer! The hotel was as warm as toast and our cosy, but spacious 7th floor room looked out over the square. The hotel had recently undergone a major refit, excellently done, great use of natural stones. The bar although large was cosy, the free internet was excellent and the evening meal was superb. We were staying there on a Friday evening and there was a massive sea food buffet on offer which was attended by a lot of local people, it was very busy but the food was superb. Breakfast, although quieter was of an equally high standard. All the staff were pleasant, helpful and I would recommend anyone to stay there.

“Very nice hotel in Punta Arenas”

We stayed one night in that hotel.

The ground floor is nicely designed; the location is very good; the staff is very helpful; access to the Internet very good; the restaurant very good.

The room, while very comfortable, and more classical.

I was told this was the best hotel in Punta Arenas today. We enjoyed our stay very much.
