“Great location.”

This trip was a short guy trip just to gamble away our money. Check in was quick and easy. The room was well apointed and very clean. The furniture was a bit worn but servicable and comfortable. We were traveling in a full size truck and were not able to park in the hotel garage, but we knew this in advance and were prepared to pay the parking fee in the lot across the street. The hotel is located right on the board walk and is easy walking distance to Bally's, Wild Wild West, and Ceasar,s. There are several small eateries close by on the board walk. Once situated in the room we had no reason to drive anywhere because of the good location. This may not be the best spot for a family, unless you are there for the beach, but we had a great time as adults.

“Much better than expected”

The parking has the potential to be terrible. We stayed here the past weekend and arrived in Atlantic City around 8:30AM. Our room was ready and they checked us right in which was a very pleasant surprise. They gave us a key for the garage. When we went to park we discovered three levels set up for about 8-10 cars. To access a level above the ground floor you had to put you car in an elevator and go up to one of the other two floors. The best guess would be parking for about 30 cars at a facility with about 50 rooms. Street parking is metered and there is a parking lot across the street. We were there early and parked right in front of the elevator on the second floor in order to facilitate our way out. That proved to be a good move as when we left several couples/families were in the garage trying to negotiate out of parking spots that had been blocked in.

That out of the way the hotel itself was better than we expected. The gentleman that registered was polite and helpful. We had booked a one bedroom unit and based on some of the other reviews were a little apprehensive. When got up to our room on the 8th floor we were pleased. We had an ocean view. The room had a living/dining room a small kitchen and a seperate bedroom. Based on the other reviews we were concerned about room cleanliness, room smell, stained/dirty linen. None of those negatives were found. We travel frequently and notice those things. They were not eveident here. The room was every bit as good as you would find elsewhere in AC.

The hotel has a pool and hot tub on the top floor. The area was closed as they were working on the floor around the pool. The pool is not very big and is more for a quick dip. It would have been a good idea to let the customers know the pool was going to be closed before arriving. We were not going to use it so it didn't impact us.

The facility was better than we had expected and would definetly consider it again I would be concerned about parking, particularly in the summer. Prior to our leaving I asked the young lady at the desk about summer parking and she indicated that unless you can get in the garage you are on your own. If you were staying there and heading out for the day I could see parking being a problem. The hotel which has immediate boardwalk access from the front door is located at the end of a street that I would be concerned about leaving my vehicle on overnight. The lot is an open lot and I could not vouch for the level of security there either.

If you can park in the garage or don't need parking (bus, train) then this is a nice alternative to the casino hotels.

“Great place to stay for the entire family!”

We just came back from an overnight stay at La Renaissance Suites. We had a two-bedroom suite. One bedroom had two twin beds and another one had one queen size bed. All the beds appeared to have new sheets and covers. The livingroom had two sofas (which I believe pull out) and the kitchen was fully equiped with a full size frig. It was everything you'd want your home-away-from-home to be. Our only complaint was the musty smell that permeated the entire suite. Oh, and there was construction going on right next to the hotel -- and they started working at 6:30 AM! Of course, this is NOT the hotel's fault, but still, it put a damper on our trip. The hotel parking was limited and the space was small. Overall, however, we were very happy with our choice.

On Oct. 5,2007, my husband and I checked in to the hotel. I was expecting a large room-surprising it was a mini apt, with a separate bedroom. The furniture was quite worn, but fine for 1 evening. I opened the curtains to see the beautiful view of the ocean-all windows have not been cleaned since who knows when. I had to open the sliding door to see the ocean. I turned down the bed,and the pillow cases were stained. They didn't appear to be dirty, just permanently stained. I thought,OK. The building is old, the sheets are worn. We went to the casinos. Had a good time .Came back. Went to bed. At 3:30, the people in the next room were VERY loud. I waited till 4:30, called the desk. Complained. Things calmed down. Again, at 5:30, had to call front desk. At 7:30, I decided to get up and go on the balcony, only to see someone peeing off their balcony!!! We had enough. Not only were we exhausted from no sleep, they never did anything during the night to try to control the unbelievable noise(they said they called the room and told them to quiet down) It was my husband's birthday, we planned to stay the following day. Instead we ended up disgusted and driving home early. Only an apology was extended at check out. I asked to see the manger. I expected a room rate adjustment-but no one was available, no adjustments made. Just a disappointed week-end. I think "Terrible" describes our experience.

(check the candid photos section for many recent photos we just added)!
Pros: quick friendly check in, got my MINIvan in the inside parking & on 1st floor, room was big enough for all 6 of us, kitchen was fully equiped, awesome view of ocean, balcony was attached to my families who was in the next room, cheap, free self cook and serve coffee bar in lobby, pool and hot tub on top floor and viewing deck, game room
Cons: the 1 bedroom in our suite smelled of smoke after using Febreeze(which i took along after reading traveler reviews) and there were no windows in that room to air it out. didnt know how to use the jet tub and it shot water all over the room!! dishwasher took all day to wash, man was sealing right outside our balcony door! and men were working on the roof a floor down below our balcony at 9am.
