The Wyndham Skyline was a good choice for our dance troupe of nine families. We went down to Atlantic City for a competition and workshop and wanted a "family-friendly" environment where the kids could get together in the indoor pool and we could eat together as a group in our director's suite. There were 26 of us sharing five spacious suites. I would not suggest staying here if you want a weekend of gambling and nightly entertainment. I'm sure the casinos offer better deals and you can even get comped.

The Wyndham Skyline is located a block in from the boardwalk with the closest casino being Resorts (a Hilton property). There is no restuarant at the Wyndham and you must valet park for $6 a day. There is no daily housekeeping unless you want to pay an extra charge. It is a timeshare property and they do offer to give you a presentation for three hours where you will get $75 to play in the casinos. We took a pass on this presentation, but others in our party did the tour and they were sorry they wasted their time.

All the employees in this hotel are extremely friendly from the front desk staff, to the bell hops, to security, etc. They were very nice to our girls each morning as they went off to their activities, wishing them luck and always welcoming us back. General Manager of this property, please take note that all your employees seemed very happy so you must be doing something right! They also seemed very warm to each other too so they must feel like they are part of a family.

I don't know why the elevator system is so slow since there are three elevators, but you do often have to wait awhile. I know they have to valet park for space, but we would have liked to have had easier access to our car. Although, the valet service was quick, you always felt the need to tip each time you wanted your car.

I found the whole facility to be very clean from the sheets, to the floors, the kitchen appliances and even the pool area. We liked sitting on our large balcony, but we had very little visibility on a foggy weekend. Walking along the boardwalk is a show in itself. We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe one afternoon and enjoyed walking around the Caeser's mall. At the end, there is a cool water-light show in fountains. Atlantic City has added a lot more shopping both indoor and out. Unfortunetly though, it still looks very run-down in areas and it gets a little depressing seeing so many people down on their luck. Having been to both Las Vegas and to Atlantic City several times, I much prefer the glamour of Vegas.

My stay at the Wyndham Skyline Tower in Atlantic City from April 13-20, 2008 was a wonderful experience overall.

I stayed in a two-bedroom suite on the 25th floor. One advantage of the two-bedrooms is that they are located on the corners of the building, so you can get a window view from 2 sides. My suite had a balcony that overlooked the south boardwalk area (Trump Plaza, Bally's, Tropicana, etc.). What a great view it was! The Master bedroom had the same view out the window, and the second bedroom had a small window looking toward Borgata and Harrah's in the "Marina" area of town.

I found the beds to be pretty comfortable. I slept soundly most of the time, and I usually don't sleep well away from home. There were air conditioning units in the living room and both of the bedrooms. The full kitchen was nice and convenient, though I never actually "cooked" anything except popcorn in the microwave!

For the most part things were very quiet. The air conditioners helped to drown out any street noises (like sirens) at night. There were a few times when I could hear some sort of shuffling in the suite above me, but it was short-lived and not that loud.

The staff of the Wyndham were very friendly and seemed to go out of their way to make sure you had a good time. The ladies working the activities desk on the 6th floor were always helpful and cheerful. Many of the staff would even strike up friendly conversations with me and other guests in the elevator.

And that brings me to the only real negative about this place - the elevator problem (which has been brought up in many previous reviews.) During most situations, there would be a wait of anywhere from 0 to 5 minutes. However, if it happened to be a busy time or if the cleaning staff was using one, you might have to wait around 6 to 10 minutes. I doubt that there's anything the property can do about this, because it really is a "compact" place without much room for expansion. There are actually only 12 suites per floor which is really kind of nice in a way. (There are about 30 total floors w/ first floor for check-in/staff, next four for parking, and 6th floor for pool, activities, etc.)

The bottom line is that if you don't mind the inconvenience of the elevator situation, this is a great place to stay in Atlantic City - friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and just a short walk (about 3 minutes) to all the action on the AC Boardwalk.

I'm a business traveler that had never visited Atlantic City so I decided to spend 3 nights on a discounted rate.

If you are considering visiting Atlantic City a few things to consider. Obviously this is not Las Vegas that does a pretty good job at catering to families. 98% of this place is about gambling. There are some shows and so forth advertised but if you aren't into gambling you could become very bored. The casinos except for maybe the Borgota are mostly 4 walls, a roof and slot machines galore. Otherwise they are not your typical upscale "themed fanfaire" with shops, dining, things for the kids and exhibits. My point is if you think you can walk around and see the sites while your spouse is gambling you wont be happy very long.

Now the Skyline. First off this is not a full service hotel or casino. If room service, gambling, dining/drinking, and daily maid service in your hotel is your thing you should stay at one of the casino hotels. This is a timeshare property that also rents their large suites on a daily basis. (Do not pay more than $99.00 per day.)

When you check in you will be told to go over to another counter where you will receive a small packet of useful mini items and maps but you will also be asked to attend a "presentation about the hotel and its services" for 60 minutes and you'll receive $60.00 gambling money for your time. I declined and was never bothered about it the rest of my stay.

The Deluxe 1 BR condo was fairly nice. It had a well equipped kitchen, separate living room, outdoor balcony, and a small bathroom. The king sized bed wasn't great, I didn't use the kitchen at all and none of the rooms had wireless internet. (It's provided on the 6th floor and lobby.) both rooms had a large regular TV with DVD player in the living room and a smaller flat screen in the bedroom.

The valet parking was very reasonable and well managed.

Location wise there aren't too many options for dining except at the restaurants at the nearby Resorts and Taj Mahal casinos. To go elsewhere you walk or you cant rent a guy pushing a enclosed cart on wheels called a "Jitney". I don't care to haggle so I walked around.

I didn't care for the Skyline much. I guess if I am in a casino spot I'm not too interested in a condo that doesn't have the typical hotel like amenties. Cooking and living in a condo like room while at a gambling town would not be for me.

My friend and I arrived late Thursday evening at the Skyline Towers. The front desk staff, bellhops, and valet were very helpful and courteous. After reading a previous review, I wasnt sure what the neighborhood would be like, its not that bad (right next to Taj & Resorts), though I wouldnt suggest roaming the streets of AC at night. You'll be fine during the day. My friend forgot her contIact solution and toothbrush, Skyline Towers has a small store at the front desk to purchase those items which was very helpful at midnight and you really need to take out your contacts.

I did have to speak to a timeshare rep, and we scheduled an appt for Fri morning for a 30 min survey. Needless to say, Friday morning rolled around and they called my room constantly starting at a half hour before my appointment to make sure I was up to attend their pointless meeting. I didnt answer the phone, just ignored it. Best idea ever. Avoid those people at all costs. Upon attending the preso, they were giving $30 or comedy show tix.

The room was spacious and clean. No bed bugs. Giant balcony and a great view from the 30th floor. My friend and I brought food from home in a cooler so we could cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for ourselves.

In the mornings we walked to the Outlets (about a 1 mile walk towards the expressway) and in the afternoon we used the Skyline Tower gym and pool. The gym has 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, yoga mats, plenty of free weights, stability balls, and a universal machine. It all the equipment needed for a good workout. I was impressed. My friend and I had the pool to ourselves which was nice. There was also a hot tub there too. It the summer it looks like the roof opens and there is a hot tub outside too. The pool is open until 10pm, definately take advantage of it! There are also many events going on in the activity center (bingo, make overs, free popcorn, free coffee, billiards, etc.) There was even a laundry mat there, too.

At night, we went to Harrah's. We took the #2 Jitney, which picks up right across the street. It was about a 15 min ride. Cost is $2. Very safe. Seems like the Jitneys run pretty often too. If thats not your style, there are also many taxis all over the place, and the front desk staff even offered to call some for us if we needed it.

Sunday morning, a few hours before checkout, I received ANOTHER time share phone call. This time I answered and told them I didnt want to attend and they left me alone. Check out was smooth, they slipped my bill under my door and as long as I was ok with the balance I was free to leave.

Skyline Towers is great for quality time with girlfriends or your significant other. You can save alot of money cooking in your room, even if its just breakfast and lunch and snacks. Its easy to find and close to many casinos and the boardwalk.
