“Excellent Experience at Harrah's!”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

I have only been to Atlantic City once before with a poor hotel experience, so I was nervous about staying at another casino hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with Harrah's. The day of my arrival was quite busy and despite a long line at the hotel registration desk, check-in was very smooth and I was upgraded to a Waterfront Tower room. The room was very large, exceptionally clean and functional. I had room to move and room to work. I was on the 23rd floor, so I could not hear any noise from the casino or other hotel guests. The only problem with my room was the bathroom as it did not have a bathtub; just a shower. Although it was a fabulous shower, I missed being able to soak in a tub.

The restaurants are surprisingly reasonable and there are many choices. Breakfast at Reflections is fast and very tasty. The Deli is also exceptional. I did order room service on my first night and it was very good as well.

The pool area is great for many reasons. It is temperature controlled, has private cabanas, a patio and bar. Also, it is for adults only so there are no children running around. It is an excellent way to relax.

The casino is typical. I am not much of a gambler so only a bit went to the slots.

One consistent aspect I noticed was the food service and retail service staff's demeanor. The retail store clerk was unhelpful. Reflections wait staff was very nice, but once I was served, I never saw them again. Usually staff come around to see if everything is ok. Nothing; not even a coffee warm-up. I am one that says "please" thank you" and "have a good day." It is nice to hear back.

Overall, I am very pleased with Harrah's and recommend it highly.

“Not impressed with hotel or casino”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

We just returned from a 4 night stay in Atlantic City over Mother's Day weekend. Myself and partner in 1 room, his parents (Christmas/Mother's Day present) in another. We had 3 nights in adjoining rooms in the Centurian tower at Caesars(which will be under a separate review), and the last night my partner and myself had to go to Harrahs and his parents remained at Caesars. With Harrahs being rated #1 on TA, we were excited about the change. This was quite the disappointment. We were in the Marina Tower, room 10021, and it was dirty/dusty. I hate complaining about a hotel room, especially when it was comped, but this room really needs help. I'm not a neat and picky person, but when the inner lamp shade was torn to shreds, the ice bucket was covered in dust, and the tub/shower has a fair amount of mold, something needs to be done. You could hear talking, toilet flushing, water running from the room next door (and they weren't that loud), plus there was constantly a cricket sounding noise all night long....still don't know what this was. The bathroom was very small and just inside the hallway. It was dark in the shower with the shower curtain pulled. I'm sure if we were in one of the newly upgraded rooms, our experience would have been completely different. I'm glad we didn't have to pay for this room, because it wasn't any better than a Super 8.

As for the casino, it is very spread out and at least to me had a limited slot selection. I'm a diamond member but mostly like pennies because they're fun to play. They don't have a lot of penny slots and a much more limited variety than other casinos. Normally ,Harrahs have the newest slots, but this one didn't. It just seemed odd to me that there were many more 20-50 line nickel and quarter slots than penny. The other thing that I didn't like was that it was much louder than the other casinos. I think that maybe Harrahs appeals to the 20/30 something crowd that the over 40 that I'm part of.

For the good, I liked the "food court" area in which it was nice to get something quick to eat or drink. The buffet was wonderful. I wish that I liked seafood/sushi because the selection of that very large. However, the prime rib/ New York strips, Italian foods, desserts.... provided more than an ample selection. They have nice, upscale shops. Every employee we encountered was nice and helpful. I hear that the pool is really nice, but we never had time to use it.

So to sum up, the reason I gave it 2 stars is the room and casino. I would be very hard pressed to stay here again, even if in a comped, nicer room, because of the casino. I would only stay here if all other Harrahs properties were booked because I wouldn't plan on gambling here much. We didn't complain about the room because it was a very busy weekend, and plus it was free.

“Nice place-large rooms”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

We just returned from Atlantic City and stayed 2 nights at Harrahs in the Marina District. It's a beautiful hotel and the rooms in the Waterfront Tower are very clean and extra large for the price ($350. 2 nights).
The hotel shuttle to the Boardwalk (3 miles) was free and convenient. Check-in went fairly fast (20 minutes) and the staff was friendly.
This is a great place to stay.

Harrah's has it all. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool is awesome..........like being away on an island holiday. The buffet is one of the best in AC! The deli has wonderful menu items especillay the potato latkes.Reflections provides a moderate and diversified menu. The feeling at Harrah's is always upbeat and fun. I never stay anywhere else.

“Great at Harrah's”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

Apr 27, 2008

Got a free comped room for one night at Harrah's and was put in the Harbour Tower Deluxe room. The room was clean and roomy. My wife and I agree that the bed was the most comfortable in AC. The only problem I had with the room was there was no safe. I guess I'm spoiled into thinking a casino hotel should provide a safe.
I drive to AC, so being so far from the Boardwalk is no issue for me, but as a word of warning, if you want the beach and Boardwalk you will either have a long drive or a cab ride since Harrah's is in the Marina area.
The new food court is a great way to get a quick bite without having to pay an arm and a leg at the sit down restaurants. (Save money for the slots and tables!)
The pool looked fabulous although we did not use it.
To sum, Harrah's is the best of the four Harrah's properties in AC and we will gladly return.
