I have only been to Atlantic City once before with a poor hotel experience, so I was nervous about staying at another casino hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with Harrah's. The day of my arrival was quite busy and despite a long line at the hotel registration desk, check-in was very smooth and I was upgraded to a Waterfront Tower room. The room was very large, exceptionally clean and functional. I had room to move and room to work. I was on the 23rd floor, so I could not hear any noise from the casino or other hotel guests. The only problem with my room was the bathroom as it did not have a bathtub; just a shower. Although it was a fabulous shower, I missed being able to soak in a tub.
The restaurants are surprisingly reasonable and there are many choices. Breakfast at Reflections is fast and very tasty. The Deli is also exceptional. I did order room service on my first night and it was very good as well.
The pool area is great for many reasons. It is temperature controlled, has private cabanas, a patio and bar. Also, it is for adults only so there are no children running around. It is an excellent way to relax.
The casino is typical. I am not much of a gambler so only a bit went to the slots.
One consistent aspect I noticed was the food service and retail service staff's demeanor. The retail store clerk was unhelpful. Reflections wait staff was very nice, but once I was served, I never saw them again. Usually staff come around to see if everything is ok. Nothing; not even a coffee warm-up. I am one that says "please" thank you" and "have a good day." It is nice to hear back.
Overall, I am very pleased with Harrah's and recommend it highly.
