My wife and I went to the Tropicana Casino and Resort for a one night stay, April 13. We were meeting three other couples for a birthday trip for one of our friends. I have not been to Atlantic City in over 20 years; my wife has never been there. We love going to Las Vegas and were not sure Atlantic City would measure up. We were right. That being said, we did enjoy ourselves. We had a room on the 9th floor of the South Tower (the oldest part of the Hotel). The three other couples were is consecutive rooms in the West Tower. I thought our room was nicer, in appointments and in size.
We had a special package, which included a show and free breakfast. For Dinner we decided to go to Bally’s to the Buffet. It was OK, nothing great. The show at the Trop was 42nd Street. It was not Broadway caliber, but was nice. After the show we went and played the slot machines, and had drinks at one of the bars. After meeting up with the three other couples, we went to the Martini Bar, which to us called last call way to early.
The Breakfast Buffet was nice, not great. We have stayed at the Wynn in Las Vegas and the Buffet there blew this one out of the water. The Trop was a nice Hotel, not great. Very crowded and I would say middle quality and certainly did not measure up the Wynn in Las Vegas, or even the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
To us there is no comparison, and we are not is a rush to go back. Las Vegas here we come.
