“Cheko and Therese are fantastic Animators!!”

Three Corners Rihana Resort

5 of 5 stars
Kidderminster, Worcs.
Jul 12, 2008

We stayed at the Rihanna Inn from June 23rd to July 4th, 2008 to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. We had a fantastic holiday and thought the hotel was great. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, rooms although basic, were good. The grounds were kept immaculate and loved seeing the ginger cat with her kittens playing in the garden. I can't knock this hotel for anything except perhaps the repetitive food. But quite honestly we didn't find this a problem as we ate out most nights. We took advantage of the 'dine around', which in place of your 'all inclusive' meal allows you to access many restaurants in surrounding hotels and restaurants giving you 40 egyptian pounds towards the bill of each member of your party. But to be quite honest it didn't make a huge difference as the food was inexpensive anyway. But I have to say that each restaurant we went to the food was wonderful, and well worth paying the extra. Most meals came to anywhere between £15 and £40 for six people. The hotel's goumet french and italian restaurants were fantastic and ate there many times, but it was nice to get out too. Would recommend the thia restaurant in downtown and the indian restaurant at the marina. I would have to say don't go to the 'Friday festival of light' at the marina. It cost about £26 (40 euro's) per person, food was frankly boring, and entertainment bland. We ended up leaving and going to the Saigon restaurant instead. This restaurant is vietnamese and food brilliant. Tok tok's not to be missed. Make sure you book your free boat ride, as we missed out on this when leaving it too late to book.

Finally I have to say a huge thankyou to CHEKO AND THERESE, the animators. They were absolutely fantastic. I can't tell you how much they made our holiday. They were great fun, very friendly, made a huge effort to get us involved in all the activities, always sought us out and got us into the party mood. They made my husband's 50th birthday a fantastic day, and gave us a going away present too. I shall miss them so much as they were great company. Illyss and Stephenie (the other animators) were not a patch on these two, and although I asked them to make a special mention on my husband's birthday at the Peanuts Bar they seemed more interested poncing around. Anyone going there please make an effort to find Cheko and Therese, they will certainly make your holiday. We had such a laugh with them.

Also special mention to Abass (the pool man) and Elsayed (barman), both lovely people and very helpful.

Can't fault this hotel, and El Gouna itself is lovely. First time to Egypt and will definitely be back.

“Nice hotel but let down by food.”

Three Corners Rihana Resort

2 of 5 stars
Cumbria, England
Jul 1, 2008

Stayed here for a week with our 6 year old grandson. Might have recommended if it were not for the food, which is poor. Restaurant very basic & choice was VERY limited especially the meat e.g .one lunch time "meat" choice was veal mince or small pieces of grilled fish handed to you (not help yourself); when it was carved turkey everyone got 2 tiny pieces. Salads were minimal. Vegetables plentiful & well cooked. We struggled most meals; our grandson ate spag.bol.from the childrens corner & hot dog/burger which were alternate lunchtimes. We have travelled extensively & this was the worst food we have had.
The hotel itself is nicely laid out; we used the pool with the water slides as most children were there; the main pool seemed to have loud music most times we passed. Would not have let our grandson attend hotel run kids club as 8 to 10 children (aged 4 up) were brought to the pool with one "carer". Evening entertainment - hotel staff doing small shows on stage followed by 2 singers in Peanuts Bar which is far too small.
Few minutes walk to downtown restaurants & supermarket & would recommend tuc-tuc to Marina; nice, reasonably priced restaurants.
Flew to Cairo for the day which was excellent; long day 4.15 am to 10 pm but worth doing; time there well planned.
El Gouna is a nice resort but would say find another hotel especially if going for 2 weeks as food could spoil it or you would need to eat out at night.

“Great holiday-must go when it's warmer next time!”

Looking for somewhere warm to escape our freezing February, my friend and I decided to give Egypt a try, and found ourselves at the Three Corners Hotel. It really was quite cold evenings, and the wind never seemed to let up. Having said that, I still managed to get sunburnt making myself quite ill one day! Take a fleece for the cooler times of day, and you will be fine.
The hotel was great, very clean, and lovely helpful staff-all male, I notice, even the chamber"maids"! They clean the rooms daily, leaving the bathroom towels in intersting shapes on your beds. It was a treat to go all inclusive, the food was plentiful, varied and tasty-on the down side I managed to put on half a stone whilst I was away!
The entertainment was OK, we did go to a couple of shows, which were not bad-you can get fed up with the endless renditions of the "Three Corners Hotel" song though! They play it at every show, by the pool, in the bar etc etc. I did notice people groaning after yet another song and dance routine of the (catchy) song. If you do like it though, the song is available on a CD single.
If you leave the hotel, be careful of buying goods etc from shops-they only barter, and you can get conned.
I would like to go here again, perhaps a bit later in the year, as it was a good, value for money holiday.

“Rihana is a winner!”

Spent two weeks at the Rihana over Easter and as our 1st ever "all inclusive" experience it was much better than expected. Yes, I guess its more 3 than 4 star, but thats reflected in the price. Contrary to some previous reviews the food was excellent, plenty of choice not too repetitive and although the restaurant was busy in the evenings (especially early on) the service was excellent and we always found a spare table (bearing in mind it was Easter we only had to wait once for a table and then about 5 mins) Breakfasts were excellent, again lots of choice. I can't really say we had any complaints, the staff were all very friendly and helpful (and not ONLY if you tipped them) Hotel Facilities are very good, Pools lovely and clean, plenty of sunbeds (although the usual suspects are out at sunrise reserving them!!! - sad. We usually went to the lagoon beach and always got sunbeds even at 11am or later. We did eat out both Downtown (the greek restaurant) and at the Marina (the Indian - fantastic!!) as its so reasonable and makes a change, you can also use the "dine around" scheme which helps reduce the cost even more. We used the Pizza place in the hotel "Dolce Vita" twice and it was excellent. Even though the hotel is on the Lagoon beach we went to the sea beach a couple of times too for a change of scenery, overall a very lazy holiday!- fantastic weather in great surroundings. Hotel is probably geared more towards French/Dutch/Belgian customers but that did not bother us, The animation team were actually quite funny and work very hard - even the amatuer productions they did were pretty good (well the ones we saw out of the 3 or 4 per week!)
Hotel grounds were sprayed every nighty to keep the mossies at bay! - nice touch!!!
We really enjoyed the holiday and would recommend to families and groups of friends but maybe not older couples wanting peace & quiet (although the grounds and beach are big enough to find seclusion if required)
