“Fantastic, couldn't be better”

This hotel was more than we hoped.
Since the first day until last.
People were fantastic. Great food and entertainment.
I don't understand what people want more, perhaps they're too fussy and not humble enough (like we saw some examples)...
For me and my fiancee this hotel wasn't just 4 stars but 5.
The hotel is 10min walk to the beach and for those that are a bit lazy there's a bus.
There's lots of sport activities during the day around the pool and at night the same talented people entertain the guests with their humour. At 11pm the hotel have a separate pavillion where you can have a drink, smoke shish and dance.
There are days that you just relax next to the pool bar and enjoy the sun, but if you are a bit adventurous there's always scuba diving courses, first on the pool and then on the sea, and discover the beautiful reefs.
Inside the hotel there's also an shopping arcade where the staff are very polite, friendly and you can buy some presents.
If you want to go to the nearest city "naama bay" don't forget to bargain for the souvenirs with the local dealers, and prepare yourself for being "chased" in a good way.
You can also, depending on your tour guide book some fantastic experiences, such as: Camel Riding, dinner in the desert, star gazing, watch the fabulous sunset, quad bike and so on... there's plenty to do.
We can only say thank you so much for everything. We had a great time.

“ACE!!!”

I got back from Sol Sharm a few weeks ago now but it was brill. I panicked so much as a lot of the earlier reviews moaned about food and service etc. I'm quite a fussy person with food and was ill with food poisoning when i came back from Dominican Republic last year so i was worried it was going to happen again.

The food was brill, obviously don't go expecting them to stick on proper English food and chips every day. Breakfast was good, fresh pancakes, omlettes, pastries, cereal and then they catered for everybody so there was meat, cheese, salad and then some cooked stuff. At lunch they did chicken, beef and fish, there everyday but cooked differently so it wasn't the same and again with fresh salad, pasta and rice salad, soup, fresh bread rolls, fresh pasta made with your own choice of sauce and ingredients....loads really, and then same for dinner more or less but there is always more than one thing your going to like!

The pool was freezing! It's fresh water so they don't heat it and unless you've got the hottest day in the world then just stick to sunbathing! The sea is warm and your can access the beach either by walking down - takes about 2 minutes, or they put on a shuttle bus which we hopped on going back up to the hotel coz it's up a slight hill but really it takes 2 seconds to get back so it's lazy really!

The beach has a jetty which you can see from photos and it's great coz you can see loads of sea life - there is one fish that's alwyas in the same place with a purple mask and yellow lips, will have to post a photo and loads of swordfish-well they looked like swordfish, but smaller! it's great though coz you can go swimming off the jetty - there's steps going in to the sea. Sunbeds and drinks at the bar are also free down there if you're all inclusive-just so you know.

The entertainment staff at the hotel were good, some of the shows were excellent-they are really good performers, although they mime all the songs some of the choreographng is excellent!

Me and my boyfriend only went on one trip - it's booked through the dive centre next to the hotel pool and you go snorkelling/scuba diving around different sites in the bay - there's a really cool ship wreck too. I only went in once-as soon as i stuck my head in the water the 1st thing i saw was the biggest sting ray i have ever seen laying on the bottom of the water! There was also a lot of jelly fish but they are non-stinging so don't worry!

We also went in to Naama Bay a couple of nights, it's so busy all the time! beware of blokes wanting to help you cross the road at the taxi drop off point-they just want cash and even though zebra crossings mean nothing to cars - we were quite capable of making it accross without getting run over! try smoking a shish pipe...loads of really fruity flavours and it's not drugs like a lot of people thought! Although we didn't eat there, there are so many restaurants on naama bay beach and they all look lush! It doesn't cost a lot to get to naama bay from the hotel can't remember how much but it's easy enough, there's a taxi rank in the hotel reception area.

Erm what else, can't remember, oh yeh, they have a ping pong table, how ace is that!

Anyway, if you want to ask me anything then send me an email and i'll answer all your questions.

“Everything fine, don't worry”

I chose this title because we read some bad reviews and were somewhat concerned. However, my fiance and i are just back and found the Sol Sharm to be an excellent place, with very little we could complain about.
The food & drink was good, the room and hotel very clean, the hotel staff were superb, the weather was awesome. (everything we were looking for really).
To be honest i would rate the resort at 3 star (which is what we were expecting), and not 4 star as described in the brochures (for the money though what are people expecting?).
Overall, we had a great week at the Sol Sharm and would recommend the resort.
I would say to anyone reading this to ignore the bad reviews as these people must be hyper critical.
Hope this helps.

“Enjoyed our stay”

We were a bit put off by our first view of the run up to the hotel. The surrounding area is very barren but will obviously be developed in the future. The room we were allocated was really good. It was on the ground floor overlooking the large pool area. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were provided every day. There is no hairdryer in the room but fortunately we had taken our own. I believe you are able to borrow one from reception. The reception staff on the whole were ok with the exception of one or two who seemed unable to speak or understand English. The one major problem is safety deposit boxes. We experienced problems in trying to obtain one. We were told on the first day to come back later and one would have been reserved for us. You can probably guess what happened, we went back and no box had been reserved. This happened 3 times and finally they did manage to give us one. The problem is there are over 300 rooms and only 150 boxes. Common sense would dictate that it would be better to situate the boxes in the rooms.

There is building work going on all the time around the hotel which you can hear if you stay around the pool area. There are mechanical diggers making a loud clanging noise from 10:00am until about 4:00pm. We went down to the beach to escape the noise. There is a small open bus provided to take you down to the beach - free of charge and the drivers are very pleasant. The beach area is fine. The entertainment group start at about 11:00am and the music blares out disturbing any peace you thought you may have had. They stop at around about 1:00pm and commence again at 3:00pm. Quite a few of the people on the beach asked that the music be turned down.

We stayed all inclusive for one week and on the whole enjoyed the experience. The food is ok but very samey. I would say that in our opinion this hotel does not cater very well for small children.

we spent 2 weeks at the sol sharm and as it was our 4th trip to Egypt we had an idea what to expect.
If you want luxury go elsewhere but if you want a bargain, clean hotel with pleasant staff book the sol sharm. I found the hotel a bit tired looking but clean.

ROOMS= twinbeds, mini fridge,TV, couple of chairs and coffee table. Bathroom large vanity mirror, shower over the bath. No hairdryer so take your own or you can get one from reception.

RESTAURANT= Each night they have a theme night but all the food was the same(the norm in egypt) its buffet style didnt find it very hot but you wont starve, they have a pasta chef everyday who makes it in front of you.

POOLS= 2 pools split within the resort, large pool has a bar and a restaurant around it and is near the health club, childrens pool is small but much more peaceful.

BEACH=you can walk to the beach or you can take the free shuttle bus down, we spent nearly everyday here not to big but does it get busy they also have a bar on the beach that is open from 10am.They have a jetty out in to the sea but most of the coral is dead but while there we saw a large selection of sealife exp. parrot fish, butterfly fish, picasso fish the best was a lionfish and an octopus that changed colour in front of me it was fantastic.

SHUTTLE BUS= the hotel have a shuttle bus that goes in to naama and old sharm 3 times a day it cost 2 euro to naama and 3 euro to old sharm so when you get fed up with the food in the hotel it is easy to get in to town, you can gat a taxi back from naama for about 50EP agree the price before you get in.

STAFF= we found mostly helpful and happy to help but not always on the look out for tips as it has been in some of the hotels we have stayed in. They do have their work cut out with some very rude guests. Our room boy did towel sculptures most days swans, bunnies , flowers etc.

ENTERTAINMENT= one word CHEESY ok for young kids but if you have a brain cell make your own or go in to naama bay, they have a disco at 9pm for the kids followed with the show at 10pm. The entertainment staff also work through the day with keepfit, yoga, belly dancing etc

BARS= they have 1 at the beach,1 at the pool and 2 indoors. AI drinks can be a bit like paint stripper but they do sell brand drinks as well but expensive but once you have a few cocktails you wont have any taste buds left anyway so why bother.

GOOD POINTS V's BAD POINTS= it was a bargain and near the sea, Bad points RUSSIANS , large mix of guests italians, german, spanish, english but the worst was the Russian guests very rude to other guests and the staff and no table manners what so ever.
would i go back again? yes if i could get another bargain that we had but if i had to pay more No i would go elsewhere
