Reef Oasis Beach Resort

Returned on Sunday on Thomson flight paid for premium seating
only to find no Premium cabin on the 767 300 on inward flight waiting for reply to my complaint from Thomson.
Stayed in the 1200 block we had a family room although their was only two of us. The building work was not particularly noisey
but the pool was overlooked by the workman leering at the females.
The hotel was double booked which caused some guests having to share one room when they had booked 2.The air conditioning kept breaking down in some rooms in the new blocks. You get a fridge in your room but no drinks are included there is no tea and coffee in your room and the pools in the new blocks only have self service orange, pineapple and water.
The food is average very repetative.
The beach and reef is excellent just be early if you want a sun shade.
We have stayed at the Laguna Vista and Grand Azure before much nicer Hotels but not so good reef and beach.
We will go back to Sharm but not to the Reef Oasis.

“Brilliant....!!!”

Reef Oasis Beach Resort

We have just returned back from the Reef Oasis after a week there, The hotel is lovely there is alot of building work going off around the complex but if your lucky enough to get a room away from it all then you will have no problem seeing or hearing it. When we arrived on the monday we had problems getting a room they put us right next to the building site we were not happy at all after moving us 4 times we finally got a room at 2.15 in the morning, we went with my parents so we all ended up stopping in a family room which we did not pay for, but all the problem was with Thomas Cook so i will be writing a letter to them to complain and try and get so compensation. After we finally got our room it was lovely we had a swimming pool right outside our patio doors, just a walk away from the beach about 5 minutes, The resturants are lovely there is The Central which caters for all children and adults the food is really lovely, Then there is a Italian they do pasta freshly made pizzas, The Grill which is similar to the central, and the Moonlight you have to pay at this this one which looks over the beach, Also theres a beach hut which is open in the afternoon down on the beach which does pizzas chips etc.... But for the food we'd give it 10/10. The people who work there are all very friendly they will do anything for you just tip then £1.00 or £2.00 every other night and they will look after you all holiday :-). Overall our stay at the Reef Oasis was fantasic when all the building work in complete it will brilliant theres going to be a water park and lots more. Also ther are various trips you can go on if you can be bothered in the red hot weather it was 118 everyday very hot, if you want to a chill out holiday then its perfect everything you need just a little walk away resturants, beach, entertainment. 10/10

“Lovely hotel”

This hotel is really not as bad as some people are making out, this is a 3-4star hotel, not a 5star, if you go with this is mind you wont be dissapointed.
We flew from Luton with XL, both outbound and return flights were on time & we were impressed with XL after some of the bad reviews about them.
If you want to get a visa at Sharm El Sheikh airport (only needed if you are planning on going outside of the Ras Mohammed National Park), you will NEED to pay in STERLING £'s, they WONT accept Egyptian money, very odd, they dont seem to like their own money??
We did not have transfers included in our holiday package with OnTheBeach.com, so we grabbed a taxi at Sharm Airport for £10, make sure you negotiate prices before you get in as they will try and chnage you up to £20!!!
On arrival at the hotel we were a little concerned as there is a lot of construction work either side of the entrance, but honestly we did not hear or see a thing for the whole 2 weeks we were there, just make sure you e mail the hotel in advance and ask for a room away from the building work ie- 100, 200 and 300 blocks. On arrival we were welcomed by a lady at guest relations, she was very helpful & had given us a really nice Kingsize room overlooking the relax room (room 183), which was clean & very quiet.
The hotel is HUGE! its like a village, which is lovely especially in the evenings when you can just wonder about killing some time (the entertainment is RUBBISH! so as long as you are able to entertain yourselves you will be fine, but if entertainment is your thing, dont book this hotel!!).
If you remember go down to the jetty on the beach at night time & you will see loads of huge lion fish, something you wont see anywhere else.
The food is ok, very samey after the first week, but food was always hot and with a good variety to choose from.
Try the Moonlight A La Carte restuarant (Extra charge) if you can, we went twice, and thought the food was amazing, especially the lobster ;-), the only annoying thing is that you have to pay for drinks and they only sell wine by the bottle at £16 a go (its not that nice!!).
We thought the atmosphere in the beach restaurant was really nice, and it has amazing views of the sea, try the fish night on a Wed & Sunday, if you like seafood, you will love this, I have no idea what some of the fish were there were so many!!
Pizzas in the italian at night & beach restaurant at lunch are good, get chatting to Emed the chef & he will make you special pizzas we had vegetarian specials and tuna specials, and they were lovely.
We also ate out, I can reccomend the CAMEL BAR in Naama Bay, the food/drink is really reasonable up on the terrace and the Tandoori downstairs is AMAZING!!!!
We booked to go to Cairo through Wings Tours at £135 pp, it was worth every penny, the only downside is the 4am pick up, and the 10pm drop off, its a very long HOT day, be warned!!
We both had bad tummy''s while we were there, but nothing so bad it ruiend the holiday, just go straight to the pharmacy and get some tablets, and you will be back to normal again in a few days.
If you tip the staff they do look after you, but be warned that up by the Coral pool people ae tipping the pool guy a few £'s and he is reserving the sunbeds at night time so when you go down at 8am in the morning there are NO BEDS!! (this is unfair as this pool was by far the best, put we felt that it was unfair that you had to tip a few £ every couple of days just so that you could get a sunbed!!!
The only improvements we thiught that could be made are some air conditioned areas!! all the restuarants are inside with no air con and HOT HOT HOT!!! and an adults only pool would be really nice.
Overall we would go back to this hotel again for a cheap sun holiday.

“Loved The Reef Oasis”

Reef Oasis Beach Resort

We recently had our holiday at the reef oasis. We arrvied in the middle of the night around 4am and we were amazed at the scenery. We where placed in the palms resort which despite the building works was lovely. It was isolated from the large hotel and away from the italians. It seemed as if the british where purposely sent there which i didnt mind one bit because it was the best part of the hotel. The serivce was outstanding as all the hotel staff were very freindly and helpful. The food could have been better but as it is an Italian owned hotel it is what you would expect. The Italian restuarant was the best out of the three this was probably due to the majority of guests being Italian. The Red Sea was amazing and we did the snorkelling. All you had to do was buiy snorkles and go to the end of the beach it was great. The room we stayed in was lovely, spacious and clean. all of the pricing was in euros which did annoy because we had to constantly convert in your mind. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would come back again. I would definatly recommend to stay here.

“Sorry but no!!!”

Reef Oasis Beach Resort

Have just returned from 3rd visit to Sharm and have to say this hotel was not my favourite. We we're aware of the building work before going and this did not deter us. When we arrived we did what seems to be the norm and changed rooms as the one we were given directly overlooked the building works. We were then given a room in the new resort which is actually called Palms Resort. We were still surrounded by the work but as we were out all day we took the room allocated and the work did not cause any problems noisewise. The complex is very large and there are plenty of pools and bars to choose from. Despite there being 3 restaurants the food was very repetitve and not of the best quality. The hotel is definitely Italian orientated and they are given the best service. Despite what people have written on previous reviews I did not think the service was particularly good (with the odd exception). The entertainment at night left alot to be desired and some nights was so bad you had to watch just to see if it got better!! On the plus side the beach was fine with wonderful snorkelling. However I would still return to Sharm but not this hotel.
