Agrree with previous comments that hotel is more a 3 star and could do with some up-grading in the rooms particularly the bathroom. However, the swimming pools were excellent including a seperate childrens pool and play area. Air con in room brilliant, free security boxes, rooms cleaned daily and friendly staff. I would definatley recommend meeting your Hotel Rep. we booked independently but was still given a rep called Ali. He gave us a short talk about Sharm did not push his excursions and actually helped us sort out our own trips. He was extremelly helpfull and honest e.g. he told us not to pay more than 30 Egyptian Pounds in a taxi for travel to the Old Town and Aqua Park Water park about 10 minutes drive away. Cleo Park water park is situated up the hill next to the Rosetta- 2 mins. walk, however they are charging the same admission as they do at Aqua Park which is ten times better, so well worth the £3 taxi fare to get there. As for haggling, make sure you agree a price before getting in a taxi and always offer less than the price even when buying a newspaper! We got ours for 15 E.P. (£1.50) when initially asked for 35 E.P. The hotel beach is not even worth walking to find, it is terrible, no room, no sun, no decent snorkelling. We paid 40 E.P. for the Public Beach (dont forget to take your towels) which gives you 4 sunbeds and 2 shades, when snorkelling walk to the right or left of the designated area and its brilliant. We booked a snorkelling excursion in town from a small booth at top of main street underneath the flying carpet dancer!! We paid 180 E.P. per. person which included 3 stops at sea and a nice lunch and drinks. We were picked up from our hotel and looked after by a great guy called Yasser. We found the touts in town to be a bit pushy but just say No, Thank-you- dont get into conversation as we did the first night and ended up in one of their shops for a good half hour! We met lots of genuine Egyptian people they do really like the English people and not just for their tipping, the Russian tourists seemed to be very rude and unfriendly, so a Thank-you and a smile goes a long way!
