Having been to Egpyt before & stayed at an all inclusive lovely 4* this hotel no where near deserve the 5* rating it is awarded at very best 3*. The location is good for shopping restaurants & bars as it is central but that is about all. The sreet traders are an absoulute nightmare especially to the women the word "no" is definately not understood. The hotel itself has many faults the catering is very poor, it is slow, overcrowded, getting to the self service for food & drinks is a mad scramble & if you are a child you are totally ignored when you get to be served - we went all inclusive but after finding a staple in our food one evening ate out most of the time. You cant get bottled water form the bars just half empty cups & the opening times of the bars are silly & again more queing. The rooms we booked were not what we received out twin room had no balcony just a small window, no cold water in the bathroom & useless air con. Our double room had single beds which resulted in my partner & myself sleeping separately as there was nothing else available. One of our children encountered glass in his foot from the swimming pool which resulted in him having stitches. The beach is walking distance but very very cramped. Overall although we love holidaying in Egypt we would not return to this resort & would definately not recommend this hotel 5* its definately not.

We booked the holiday with XL Holidays and it was the best holiday ever. the hotel staff was very helpful and polite. the shops are basicly just outside the hotel. The beach was 5 minute walk from our hotel. there large mcdonalds meal was what you call large also it is cheaper than england. If you need to chang money your better to change it in Egypt as You get more for your money. REMEMBER ALWAYS BARGIN WITH THE SALESMAN FOR A BARGAN. From sam from London

“Had a fabulous time! No complaints”

Tropitel Naama Bay

There is nothing wrong with this hotel at all.

It is bang right in the middle of Naama Bay, opposite the Naama Bay Mall, all the shops and bars are literally a 2-5 minute walk.

The hotel itself I had to say we had no complaints about....there are three swimming pools the bottom one really catered for the older generations, the third floor has two; one where they play dance music in the afternoon and the other a little quieter has an olympic style pool - but equally as good.

Food - not sure about the chips comments I have read before, but there is so much variety.

I have been to Sharm El Sheikh four times now and I can honestly say this is the best hotel I have stayed.

Service was superb, we asked room service for an iron and it was with us a minute later, they were friendly, always able to assist, and I don't think you will have much complaints.

However, I do want to stress that the beach is not that great! You are better off staying at the hotel by the pool or going to Terrisima a private beach (if you are in your 20's/early 30's or those who appreciate chill out music!!) with good food and drink this is just by Old Sharm and should cost you about 40/50 eqyptian pounds...

Have a wonderful time as we certainly did, would definately go back to this hotel again..

“a tip can do wonders”

Tropitel Naama Bay

I nearly changed the hotel after reading some reviews, but that would be a serious mistake. The centre of Naama Bay- centre of Sharm is at your doorstep. You laugh at people asking if you need a taxi. Food lovely and large variety. staff helpful- I am a veggie and the chef walked me around the meals to show which hadn't had meat every day. there are 2 parts of the hotel- the main hotel and the villa part upstairs (take the lift to the third floor and there is a small vehicle with a driver to take you upstaris- no walking required). If you leave a small tip on the fisrt day like 50 LE there is no need to walk up to bar for a refill. the barman will run up to you which a full glass of whatever you had before as soon as he notices your glass is empty. Alternatively sit in the pool at the bar all day :) . beach staff lovely - voleyball of dancing with Mustafa very entertaining( those lads work all day. they have a small break after the beach and proceed to the evening entertainment in the sunset bar from 9:30 til 12 ) beach small but we were never there before 11 o'clock and never had a problem finding loungers. Locals keep trying to sell you trips or newspapers at the beach. just buy a trip - (quads were brilliant), and bring a book. problem solved. or just befriend one. then tell all the others you are dealing with Abdul. works as well. If you are to book an excursion get it off one of the salespeople on the beach- they give discounts. the rep at the hotel has them way overpriced. rooms lovely, big and clean. ours overlooked the main pool and also had a sea view. I have one complaint but it has nothing to do with the hotel. Budget Travel never bothered mentioning that the flight is through Larnaca. Standing like 2 idiots in the middle of the airport looking for Sharm and then standing in the queue for Cyprus not sure what's going on was not a good start.. anyway the holiday was brilliant and all inclusive is the only way to go. otherwise we would've spent a fortune at the pool & beach on drinks. alcoholic and non.But we spent it on fake bags and watches:) highly recommended.some person said this is an Egyptian 5 star not carribean. I would give it 5 stars anyway . one more thing. it was His birthday over there. staff noticed from the passport, rang our room on the day and left a bday cake in the room in the afternoon. nice touch

“Not Bad”

Tropitel Naama Bay

4 of 5 stars

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay in Tropitel Naama Bay. The Hotel itself is lovely. I was suitably impressed on check in even if it was at about 3am. If you are flying from Dublin please be advised that you will travel to Egypt via Cyprus (we weren't told this and spent 10minutes scratching our heads at the airport looking for a flight to Sharm when there was none, but our flight number corresponded with the flight to Larnaca) Anyway, no fault of the hotels. The presence of the scanners on the door of the hotel was a little disconcerting but I can understand why. On check in we were told to follow a member of staff to our room, which was a camel ride away. It is quite a big hotel and our room seemed to be the other side of town. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The pools are great and the staff tried to keep everyone amused throughout the day. There are also some water slides which are quite good too. I like my beer, and was frustrated that even though the beer was poured from a bottle you always ended up with a glass that contained about 2 mouthfuls (I have a big mouth). Why couldn't they just give you the bottle? We were AI and while I feel my wife and I got our moneys worth through the drinks, I thought the food wasn't up to scratch. Each day had a different theme e.g Italian, Bavarian etc but it all looked pretty much the same to me. On Italian day the had a few pizzas on offer but apart from that I couldn't see much difference. We ended up eating out 4 nights as we had our fill of the same food for the 1st couple of nights. The hotel guests were mostly Russian during our stay and although I don't wish to tar everyone with the same brush, on the whole, they were rude, selfish and obnoxious. Obviously queueing is not big in their country and they would walk over the top of you to get to the food counters. Apart from the food I would recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly for the most part, the facilities were good, it's location is excellent, and if you like a tipple you will your moneys worth on the AI.
