Stayed at the Patong Beach Hotel on recommendation of Travel Agent.
We had stayed at the Le Meridan Phuket on a previous occassion, but this time wanted to be more central to Patong Beach area. Tried to stay at the Holiday Inn but could not obtain a triple share, as we had our daughter travelling with us.

On arrival we were shown to our room on the Siam wing, we found that the room was very cramped with very tired decor. We also found that the main bed was two single beds pushed together & the doona's were also single bed size thrown across the bed sideways, so our feet hung out the end.

We could at times hear the Disc Bar next door till the early hours. Stayed for 4 nights.

Tried to get upgraded but the staff were not helpful at all.

We paid a high tariff for what we would consider equal to a 2-3 star hotel/Motel in Aust.

Would we stay again. No way. Would put up with being away from the Patong Beach area & stay back at the Le Meridian, which was all class.

Stayed at Patong Beach hotel last July after being advised by travel agent it was a 4 star RESORT suitable for myself and 12 year old daughter and our needs. Paid price for what I was informed would be one of . their best rooms. On arrival late in evening shown to room right at very end of long coridor with no exit close by ,no access except by stairs, dark dingy and right behind the disco. This meant that until after 2.00am there was extremely loud music etc, unable to sleep, followed by another hour or more of cleaning up and removing rubbish, again right by our room as our balcony overlooked the service/rubbish area. The room itself was dark ,depressing half the lights did not work, the wardrobs did not open properly and there was a notice informing me that the next day the room would be fumigated !
\Like previous writers I found most of staff to be unhelpful as well as speaking virtually no english.Eventually they offered ( after i refused to move from the reception area with my bags) me a better room, the type I assumed I had paid for in the first place, but forced me to pay considerable amount extra per night.
The hotel itself had no atmosphere ,no entertainment for children
pool boring and not at all as in picture. Basically you felt you had to get out all the time and go anywhere just not to be there. This was echoed by other austs staying there. One stays and pays for more than just a place to sleep when booking this sort of holiday accomodation. The breakfasts were also mediocre to say the least.

Date stayed from 20/11/07-3/12/07.The Gong.sydney AUS.Our family stayed here for 12 nights. We had booked 2 rooms as we have teenage children on arrival we found that rooms were not next to each other. Kids were fine about it. Rooms very nice but toilet in unusual spot . And bathroom door has glass main door. No privacy. Great location. Staff friendly. some not so friendly. We had housekeeping phone outside our room which used to ring at 7 in morning. This was very annoying especially if you have a late night. After a few days of getting woken up extra early we complained. Nothing was done so we done some alterations to the phone our selves.I would be hesitant to stay here again as even though we were in sunset wing we could still hear disco.Lots of germans at the time we stayed who liked to reserve sun chairs first thing. Food at breakfast was good plenty of choice. After being to Bali lots of time i still prefer that than thailand you dont have the sleazy men picking up women. Shopping in bangkok very good but phuket was average.Bought stack of t-shirts and most have shrunk. Very relaxing but would only stay for week if i went again.

“The Heart of Patong”

Patong Beach Hotel

Nov 21, 2007

We stayed at the Patong Beach Hotel for 14 nights in early November.
We had stayed there previously and loved the central location so decided to return there for our honeymoon. The hotel is opposite the beach, just across the street. It is also just around the corner from Bangla Road, the nightlife centre of Patong, making it a short stroll home after a night out. For those who love shopping the street out the front is full of market stalls, Otop markets within 5minute walk and the new airconditioned Jungceylon mall is a block away from the hotel. Hundreds of restaurants and bars right on your doorstep.
The hotel is divided into 3 wings- Sunrise wing three levels overlooking the big pool, Siam wing three levels overlooking the small pool or the garden and the Sunset wing ten levels looking out over the ocean.
We stayed on the sixth floor in a deluxe sunset wing room, from here we had excellent views of Patong bay and the hotel's big pool. Also had and excellent view of the "spa suite" rooms below, these rooms have their own private spa on each balcony- I think the people staying in these suites thought their spa was more private than it really was- if you know what I mean!
Our room was decorated with flower petals for our arrival and were brought honeymoon cakes and a bottle of champagne shortly after our arrival- all complementary. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable king sized bed, seperate bath and shower with screens that open up the bathroom into the room so one could sit in the bath and look out over the ocean or close for privacy. Separate toilet was a strange set-up, located in what felt like a small cupboard but has a glass window with a curtain, found that you can swivel the tv so you could watch tv on the loo if you wanted- we thought it was hilarious- couldn't think of why else you would have a window in the toiolet!
Staff were always friendly and smiling, especially the bell boys who love to chat about anything and always very helpful. The hotel has four restaurants and three bars, all reasonably priced but we preferred to eat and drink out of the hotel where prices are cheaper. Banana disco is owned by the hotel, didn't go this time, last trip we went and had a good time. Heard a man complaining at reception that his room was close to the disco (at the far end of the Siam wing) and found the music too loud to sleep, though we never had a problem.
We loved our trip to Patong Beach Hotel and will definitly be going back for a third trip next year.

“Patong Beach Hotel”

Patong Beach Hotel

Oct 8, 2007

We have just returned from the Patong Beach Hotel, my boyfriend and I had a fantastic holiday. We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and it was great

The rooms we originally booked in the Sunset Spa Suite but on arrrival were told that there builiding works being done on the next room and that they would be working from 10am to 6pm. We were then offered a free upgrade to the Sunset Suite room. This turned out to be great as we had a choice of room we wanted. We had a look at both and the Sunset spa was extremely disappointing as the spa was only a bath. So we decided to take the sunset suite which was amazing. Room 1712. It was so spacious and had a bigger balcony than usual. The view was great as well. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday and the towels were always folded ready to go.

The hotel's position was great. It's central, and the beach is across the road. The grounds were kept tidy and the pool area is clean and the pool is nice. Would have been better if there was a swim up pool bar.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, their English is'nt very good on reception but they will help you all they can. The waiters and waitresses are very courteous and attentive and the service is good.

The breakfasts are good. They have a great range and have got a great range and everything you could think of from a full English breakfast, to every fruit imaginable, danish pastries, yogurts, juices, you certainly wont be dissappointed with the food. The only thing i was disappointed with was the variety of food, it didn't really change. Only a couple of dishes were switched every couple of days. Other than that it was great.

We didn't have any issues with the seahorse key. I took it everywhere with us and had no breakages. With our key you actually couldn't remove the sea horse and leave the rest in the slot to keep the aircon running. It appeared to have been welded shut.

You definatley won't be dissappointed with your stay its great value, we had room service a few times and the prices for that were reasonable. If you do book this hotel definatley book the Sunset Suite rooms, they are great.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me if I can be of any help.
