Within 4 hours of arrival we had 3 rooms all of them filthy to a different degree. Hallways and carpets generally dirty. Mouldy bathrooms, dirty showerheads, lights hanging from ceiling, wire as security catches on patio bedroom doors, the list is just endless. I wished we had read the reviews on the various web sites before we booked this awful place. We now need another holiday to get over it. It took 4 of the 7 days of our trip to partially rectify the room we ended up with and my complaint is now in the hands of the Travel Agent! Resort is dead at night so make sure you take cards or board games to keep amused unless yoyr hotel has evening entertainment. Ours ended at 11 p.m and that was it for the night. Dont waste your time or money on this resort or hotel.

“Great hotel, very relaxing”

I've not got a lot to add to the reviews below really; the hotel is great. It is really quiet and peaceful, very clean, and the staff are very friendly. Even the food is OK. I could not see a single hotel in the area that was as nice as this one. The area is not great, but the hotel is so relaxing that it didn't really matter. Other than the trips to the desert (which are amazing, and really good value) we did not really leave the hotel, and it was perfect.

If you want to have a relaxing week (or two) in the sun on a budget, this is the place to go.

“loved every minute”

My wife and i upgraded our hotel to the Flora Park from the Bel Air in hammamet( a dump) .The hotel was nice and peaceful the staff very helpful and very clean . The only complaint we had was the choice of meals there was chicken on the menu every night and no real choice of other meats, so by week 2 you start to cluck like a hen. But every thing else we could not fault, the staff were all helpful and they work for very little money. The maids get 10 dinar a day which works out at £ 4.80 yes thats right the guard on the front gate works for 27pence an hour so you can see that the cost of living is very cheap. I would recommend this hotel to all people and all ages who like to get looked after.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week from 12th september, i cannot praise the place enough!! we wanted just a break to get away from work and home life for a bit. the weather was perfect, got a good tan to show off. the room was clean spacious and with air con and tv. the hotel pool was very good always clean, what made the holiday was the staff, very friendly very customer friendly, but not just that they were always up for a laugh and always laughing and joking, especially 'bob' and mohamed the lifeguard. hotel was pretty quite for half the week but there was still entertainment on every night.

the beach was only 5 min walk, which we spent alot of time at, the water was very warm.
the medina was cool got alot of bargains, although if you dont like to be hassled i would give this a miss.

i would recomened this hotel to everyone, all ages.
will be coming back for sure!!

“A Sanctuary of a Hotel!”

Melia Flora Park Boutique Hotel

5 of us stayed at this boutique hotel from 8th - 22nd August 2007. Initially we had booked what we thought was two 'adjoining' rooms. By this the hotel means a suite - so when they could not provide two adjoing rooms (for the kids), they up-graded us at no extra cost to a lovely suite. Although relatively small by some standards, the hotel has everything you could possibly want. It's clean and spacious with a great pool and poolside bar and enough comfy sun beds for everybody (arranged and re-arranged by Mohamed). There is also a large friendly bar and dining room and a Turkish style cafe where you can go for a lie down and puff on the 'shisha'! We particularly liked to come back to the fabulous cool marble reception of an evening after all the hustle and bustle of the Medina - it was a sanctuary. Try the beauty treatments on offer too as they're a fraction of the cost of UK. The indoor pool is great too if you want to keep out of the sun and the part of the beach that the hotel 'owns' provides you with free sunbeds and umberellas. I'm not sure there's enough going on here for us to visit again - but you can't fault the hotel. It is the staff that make this place what it is. A big hello to Chockri, Nazir and the unforgettable 'Bob' from Zimbabwe.
