Stayed here for 2 nights.
The lobby is shared with a very dodgy conference centre so, as a woman, I did not feel safe.
The breakfast is nasty - not even any fresh fruit and the whole experience felt cheap and nasty - but the price was high.
The room was Ok but had a 3* feel - when you are paying close to £400 a night it is totally unacceptable. I stayed at the Kempinski last wek and for £50 more it was immeasurably better!
As for checkout - allow at least 30 minutes - only a few incompetent staff.
They tried to charge me for 2 porn films and various coffee orders that I had not viewed/drunk. I insisted that they were wrong, they insisted they were right - making me sign a disclaimer that I had not "benefted" from the services before the manager realised that the guy on the desk was calling up the wrong room account!! Very unpleasant and embarassing.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

Like most four star hotels in Moscow this is an overpriced hotel trying to suck off as much money as possible from its guests on top of the outrageous room rate. The hotel all right in general: small clean bathroom and room with an ok location. At the same time it has all the following flaws: outrageous breakfast price, no free internet anywhere in the hotel, ridiculous business and shopping area charging you extraterrestrial prices, oh and the best: the TV is useless so they managed to make it profitable by trying to charge you for watching pay tv channels without you being aware of it. Indeed, they write it in font size 2 in their innocent leaflet: they are not asking you whether you would like to watch the movie, they just charge you for a whole day of watching as soon as you spent over three minute a watching a specific channel. Honestly, for that rate you could a much more pleasant hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night while stranded due to my connection being cancelled till next day. Had to pay "rack" rate of 17000 rub. (680 $us approx) as the town was very busy for some reason. Public areas typical of SAS everywhere, room was nice but NOT $680 nice if you know what I mean. I also got stranded 1 more night but stayed at the president hotel the next night, (14000 rub) which was much better and lless expensive. If I had to stay again then the SAS would not be my 1st choice!!

on the whole a good experience at this hotel. very spacious, excellent facilities- if your budget allows it- some botique's, cinema and a club. apparently some famous people have stayed there. i have to say, its one of the nicer hotels that i've stayed at. didn't eat there- but it does have restaurants. about 10 mins walk to edge of town but 10 mins taxi ride to red sq. has some local shops and train station within 2 mins walk but we taxied it every where.
