Prices weren't any better than many other hotels in Austin (roughly $80 when we stayed). People outside and in neighboring rooms are loud throughout the entire night. Very hard to sleep.

We agree with the previous reviews. Here is what we saw;

1) Homeless people all around the hotel, sitting in the grass, begging in the trafic, Just generally hanging around the place. Not the hotel's fault I know, but it gives the area a bad feel.

2) Wireless Internet did not work, after calling the help desk and changing all the settings on the laptop (and we had to change them back when we got home), it was discovered that the router had to be rebooted. it worked for about 4 hours then malfunctioned again. We gave up with the internet at this point. There are no cables to borrow from the front desk as advertised in the brochures.

3) The girl outside seemed to be overworked as she was never at the desk when we went to get assistance. When she did turn up, she was very abrupt (but never rude) and looked overloaded.

4) The property in the back is well kept. The pool was nice.

I think the hotel is basic, and is not worth the $100 a night charged. It is a $70 a night hotel.

Homeless people wandered in front of hotel property. Three police cars showed up in front of room. Check-in was very slow and disorganized. Room was dirty and smelled moldly. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, stayed one.

My daughter's boyfriend was staying here with a construction crew and we made the trip to Austin to visit him. His crew had left ,but he decided to stay one more day at his own expense. We waited for about an hour in his room for ours to be ready. While waiting, a family walked into his room with a key. He went down to get it straightened out and they gave him a new key. We were given a room without A/C and after waiting about an hour for someone to fix it, were given another room. Later on that evening, someone walked into our room, again using a key. My daughter's boyfriend went back to his room and found that his key no longer worked. We both went to the front desk and found that our rooms had been given to other guests. We also found out that it had happened about a dozen times that day. I know of tat least wo people who left then and wouldn't even stay there. The clerk at the front desk didn't seem to understand why it was happening, but it wasn't the only time. My daughter's boyfriend said that he had to get a new key on many occasions during his month-long stay there and realized that it was probably because they kept giving his room to other guests. We were both told that we wouldn't be charged for the room. but guess what, the next day he found that about $1400.00 in unauthorized charges for room stays had been charged to his debit account. I would strongly recommend anyone to avoid this hotel completely and I will never stay at any La Quinta again. La Quinta (spanish for poor service)
