We stayed at this hotel for one night. When we got there, we checked in before we parked in the self park garage. Check in was a breeze and the front desk was very friendly. She asked if I booked a corner room and I did. I asked her if we could take our car in and out of the garage and she gave me a pass so we could do that. I am not sure if you can do that if you just get a ticket at the garage. Parking was steep at $16 for 24 hours. There doesn’t appear to be any other “deals” nearby so we parked there. We are Omni select members (DO THIS if you stay at an Omni-it is free and you get little perks) so she gave us a card to select our preferences and one to select our free morning beverages. The lobby was pretty. The doormen held the door for you. No one hassled you to take your bags or anything. The lobby has a restaurant, a bar, the concierge, and a few shops. There was fruit and fruity water there also which was a nice touch. As other reviews have mentioned, when you go up the elevator, you are looking over the lobby and people's offices. The other side of the building/atrium are offices. It is kind of neat seeing all of those people working while you are on vacation. Our room was at the end of the hallway and was a corner room. I think the corner room was maybe smaller than a "regular" room so I am not sure why I asked for it. It wasn't small, just oddly shaped. When we got there, the door was open and a hotel worker was in there checking the mini bar. He asked if he could come back and return with a missing soda and he came back promptly to replace it. It was a nice room with a big, comfy bed. There was a chair and a cool foot stool made of cow hair. The bathroom was ok. It had floor to ceiling windows on two walls (with shades). The shower was pretty but there was no bathtub and it was completely dark! There was no light in or near the shower. It also was built so water leaked out of the door so no matter what, make sure you have a towel down. The water pressure was massive. There was a flat screen tv in the room and a desk but NO free internet. It was some ridiculously high charge. I would expect more from this hotel at the prices we were paying. The view was ok. We could see Sixth Street a little (nothing much to see) and the highway and the vicinity. I don't know if anyone has a better view because the offices are on the "good" view side of the city. We did not hear any noise outside as I read on other reviews except fire trucks. No drunks from 6th Street. We were on a high floor (12 I think) so it was no problem. I asked that room service in the morning did not knock when we placed our order and just to leave it at the door but they did knock. Not a big deal. There is a pool on the top floor of the hotel outside. Part of the reason I liked this hotel was the pool but it was SO windy up there, we didn't even swim. It was way too cold. It was a cool view and the pool looked neat. The hot tub was very nice. The concierge was very helpful and friendly. They printed driving directions for us and gave us food recommendations. They had menus for local restaurants too. The location of the hotel was good. It was 2 blocks from 6th Street which is where the Visitors Center is and a lot of the restaurants and bars. It was within walking distance to most everything downtown. We walked to the bat viewing (fun) and felt very safe walking at night. However, there are a lot of homeless people there it seems. No one really talked to us but we were surprised. We took a great tour. We picked it up at the Visitor's Center and it was a 90 minute tour that took you outside of the city in a van which was totally worth it. We were going to take the Duck Tour but this was longer and took you to many other sites and the driver was funny and nice. I preferred the outskirts of the city to downtown. It was beautiful. It was not hop on, hop off though.
I did not really see a better hotel or a better area so I would stay at the Omni again.
