This was our second time at Layana and it is just such a wondeful, magical place! Our welcome back from Bob & Margie & Michael and all the beautiful staff was fabulous!

Bob & Margie have a real attention to detail, they are warm, professional and are very hands on.

The rooms, resort, restaurant etc are great as described in many of the reviews. I love the pool, a perfect temperature and size with beautiful views. Plus iced towels, water and fruit are brought round the pool & beach area just as you need them - wonderful! (note, beach towels are provided).

We did a few of the trips. Snorkling at Phi Phi was fantastic but the Island had gone very busy - we last stayed there 10 years ago and it had changed a lot. Koh Lanta is much nicer, as long as you like a peaceful, calm, friendly Island. We also did a great Eco trip through the mangroves in a long tailed boat and hired a car for a day and had a scoot round. The locals were all so friendly and we did not see any one begging or on the make.

I made the effort a couple of mornings and braved the aerobics at 7.30am - good fun but do ensure you book the day before.

The restaurant at the hotel is lovely and there is an excellent variety of food but we also got out to the beach shacks and to Lanta Seafood in Saladan (good food).

15 months ago we met 2 great couples, Steph & Ralph & Else & Ollo. This time we met another 2 great couples, Debbie & Don & Hilary & Sam. We are not normally ones for meeting people on holiday but Layana attracts lovely, like minded travellers from all over the globe!

We are missing Layana already and hope to be back in the future!

Generally we are difficult customers to please when it comes to hotel accommodation but I can say that without any hesitation the Layana resort exceeded all of our expectations on all levels. The resort itself is small, intimate and perfectly formed. The pool area and beach are perfect. The staff in all circumstances provided the highest and most sincere level of support and service. All excursions and activities including hiring mopeds and diving etc is all taken care of seamlessly by the staff and is charged to the room. This really is a cashless resort. Transfers are excellent and very reasonably priced and the restaurant, albeit the only one on the resort was very pleasant - good quality and variety of food and ambience. If you are a couple looking for a relaxing and pampered stay on a relatively undeveloped Thai island, then I would have no hesitation in recommending Layana as a perfect solution.

Last year we were fortunate enough to stay at Layana for one night, it was incredible. So, when we were deciding on where to spend our honeymoon we felt like Layana was the best choice. Last year we travelled around the world, through 10 different countries in four months and Layana was, by far, the best experience we had throughout our entire trip.
For our honeymoon we stayed for 9 nights in a Garden suite and loved every moment of it. We booked the Ultimate Relaxation Package and enjoyed a spa treatment almost everyday. It was so luxurious. We also booked some additional massages as they have some very good weekly deals. The staff at the spa were so friendly and welcoming and the treatments were done very well. It was the ultimate in relaxation!
Our suite was beautiful, we had tried to book a Beach Suite, but they were all booked. But, the Garden suite was also very nice. Roomy, and beautifully appointed. The only thing we would have liked are two sinks in the bathroom and a bit more counter space. But, it wasn't a big deal as we were never in a hurry to get ready.
The staff at Layana is wonderful. They cater to your every wish and seem to know just when you need something. The pool and beach staff were always really friendly and helpful. The activities person, Logi, was great. She taught us how to play croquet and was great to have on the snorkelling excursion. Bob and Margie were fun and so helpful. We were happy to meet them and compliment them on their amazing resort.
We also really enjoyed eating at the restaurant. Before we left home we thought we'd be eating out every once in a while, but we loved the food so much that we only had one lunch out of the resort. There is such a wide variety of food to choose from and everything we tried was delicious. Also, very reasonably priced, even with the US dollar exchange.
We can't recommend Layana highly enough, it's wonderful in every way and we hope to be back every year to celebrate our anniversary!

We found all the staff as well as the management in the hotel to be friendly, polite and professional, faultless.

The room was kept spotless, as well as the whole of the hotel, the hotel is beautiful and deserves 5 star rating (one of the highest value for money we have ever experienced even in Asia!).

Breakfast is superb, nothing is missing.

We have been eating every evening in the hotel's restaurant and here as well we have experienced great value for money, it is not worth to go outside of the hotel for your lunches or dinner.
The service is very good and the only thing you have to do yourself is to eat and enjoy.

The SPA in the hotel is also excellent and the Ladies working there are simply great!

We have read some review that the services in the hotel are expensive (i.e. restaurant, spa), please remember that quality is expensive and the value you get in return is definitevely worth to pay a bit more.



When we will return to Koh Lanta we will have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again, a fantastic experience, and a big thank you to all who made our stay and holidays memorable
