Bob and I were going to go to the the Galapagos and are we ever glad that we didn't! We had a fabulous time relaxing at Etu Moana with Jim and Joanne, David, Lovey and all the superb staff.
The villa was cozy and tropical with a/c and a fan for the warm nights. A covered porch where we spent afternoons reading and sipping cool drinks when we weren't out exploring the island and the lagoon was just the right spot. All the villas have good views and have identical layouts, so it doesn't matter much which one you book.
We explored the island on bikes from the resort, rented scooters from there too and went all over the island and ventured out to Island night at one of the neighbouring resorts and generally discovered as much as we could in a short stay. A broken collarbone on the last day while we were 'off-road' scootering (avoid slippery mud puddles) wasn't too much fun, but thanks to Lovey for coming to pick me up near the top of the island and good basic treatment at the local hospital and I was on my way home with great memories of a fine stay at a very memorable resort.
Joanne will tell you where to eat, so you won't be disappointed with your dinners/lunches out on the island. She even made reservations for dinner for us on our stopover on Rarotonga before our overnight flight to LA which made the long journey done on a full tummy. All terrific and we don't hesitate to recommend Etu Moana to everyone though it's an adult kind of place.
