We had a wonderful stay.. the owners are warm, friendly and helpful.. the room was spacious and clean, the continental breakfast was great and the views are fabulous. The common room is very comfortable, and it was a great base for exploring Homer..

Spent 2 nights here while traveling with friends. The hosts are very busy attending to several businesses and depend on teenage hired help to clean, provide food for breakfast, and greet guests. It was not clean and when we asked for the refrigerator to be cleaned and the bedroom vacuumed, the results were inadequate. We wrote a message in the dust on the dresser, found popcorn and other debris in plain sight from previous guests, and complex cobwebs in very obvious places throughout.

Breakfast food was provided to prepare for ourselves in the common area. The pastries that were left from the first day appeared on the plate again the second day. The host couple entered the living area three different times with a very brief courtesy knock that did not wait for a response. We could not lock that door from our side, although they could deadbolt it from their side. We most definitely felt that our privacy was invaded on these occasions. Also, the arrangement is such that if you rented one room and an unknown family/couple rented the other room, it could be quite an uncomfortable situation regarding use of common space, breakfast preparation, etc.
There are many nice places in Homer. Choose another .

We recently returned for a stay at this bed and breakfast, and just loved it. We stayed 2 nights. Our room had a king bed and a day bed. The bathroom contained a bathtub, toilet and big sink. The bedroom and bathroom were always clean during our stay. There is a large common guest area. It has 2 couches and satellite TV. There is a cooking area and a table for the guests. The breakfast is continental. The refrigerator is stocked with yogurt, fruit, milk and orange juice. There is also cereal and every morning a plate full of baked goodies from the Sourdough Express Bakery and Restaurant, which the owners also own. The view from this place is AMAZING! It may take 5 minutes to get into town, but that's because it sits on top of a hill, hence the incredible view. Donna was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great dinner at her restaurant one night. We loved every aspect of our stay here!

This house is just an average place to stay. The house is clean and has all the amenities needed.
Pros: Clean, fully stocked kitchen, quiet (except for barking dogs) very safe area
Cons: Remote, restaurants that are close by often close by 5pm, very uncomfortable sitting furniture, no cable TV, small selection of DVD's, reading material very minimal, Lanai not securely screened in so cockroaches and spiders and especially ghekos are common in the house. Cockroaches and spiders were more in the shower curtain (not that often but, a little freaky when they start crawling around on your shoulders).
I found the owner very friendly and quite liked her but, I personally will take a pass on staying at this place in the future. If they made some improvements this could be a nice place to stay.
