Rooms in Likya Pension are spotless, and rates are affordable. What else one could hope for? Pension is located on the river, as well as the rest of most desired properties in Dalyan, so after the breakfast which you must share with bees (ask for a tray with burning ground coffee! Smoke dispels them) you can ask the staff to call a water boat to take you to Iztuzu beach. Pension has a view on the tombs of Likyan kings, as well as the rest of accommodations in this part of Dalyan. Rooms have strong and good airconditions, and balconies have lines for drying your clothes.
For the downside: rooms are not cleaned. I suppose that Turkish custom of respecting the guests` privacy to the extreme is in place, and that I should have asked for it. But, a roll of toilet paper is really something you want to have handy without asking, `nuff said.
And there is a language barrier. Owner speaks so-so English, and staff don`t have an idea what you are talking about except for simple words like "Breakfast", "Water dolmush Iztuzu" etc. I think that owner, like many, many Turks, worked in Germany. Now he is a epitome of serene and calm attitude: except for the guest that establish contact with him for the evening raki and small talk, he basically don`t care are you in the hotel or not, he even didn`t ask us for our passports! Only thing that makes him agitated is an breakfast issue: "You pay for it, why you don`t eat it?"
So we did, and it was good: goes with yellow termos bottle with 1 liter of steaming hot tea!
