ServiceMy husband and I stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights, prior to a cruise around the Horn. I had researched hotels, had written a few, and finally booked through Tablet Hotels, who only recommend the very best. They called it "Traditional Elegance" and gave it 19 out of 20 points. I can't imagine what the missing point was for.
We were picked up at the airport by a limousine service hired by the hotel, and given the registration forms to fill out on our way to the hotel. Although we arrived in the AM, one of our rooms was ready. We had booked two connecting rooms and they were perfect, with a foyer between the rooms and an outside locking door to the hall.
We lacked for nothing: free internet(we had our own laptop), marble bathrooms, Roger y Galet amenities, a separate shower and bathtub, free breakfast and wonderful, friendly employees, especially the front desk, concierge Pablo, and the bellboys.
We had drinks in the bar before dinner and fell in love with Pisco Sours. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Le Sud, two nights and went to a dinner/tango show at El Querendi the third night. It was fantastic--both food and show.
Our best purchase in Buenos Aires was going to Silvia y Mario's to purchase leather coats. They are the best! We both got lamb jackets--mine had to be made which they do overnight, and my husband had an inside zipper put in his. Both were ready by 1 PM the next day. And they wanted to be paid in cash or personal check, if possible.
We wished we had stayed at least one more day in Buenos Aires, and would definitely stay at the Sofitel.

Business serviceExcellent! Splendid! Fabulous!
Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and was rateher sad to leave
This hotel is picturesque perfect! Certainly the best hotel in Buenos Aires.. Ive stayed in many five star hotels and this hotel certainly has captured my attention as being amongst the top in the world! Ive stayed in the Peninsula Hotels in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bangkok.. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong.. The Burj Al Arab in Dubai.. The Ritz in London and Paris.. AND CERTAINLY HAVENT HAD SUCH AN INDIVIDUALISTIC APPROACH IN ANY!
This hotel is certainly beyond the WOW factor..
Location-
The location is fabulous. Gives you the Atmosphere of being in a boutique hotel. Situated on Arroyo street, a leafy chic avenue..
Front Desk-
Superb! From the moment you enter the marble clad, glass roofed, citronella scented lobby you are pleasantly surprised. The Check-in was fast and efficient and got upgraded to a junior suite as i am a member of The Leading Hotels of The World.. The staff greeted me by name before i introduced myself. Which added that Personal Touch.
Room-
Absolutely Perfect.. The bed was heavenly.. Amenities modern and sofisticated.. Bathroom fitted in Bottocino Marble and rather big.. Junior suite has separate sitting area..
Turn Down Service-
WOW WOW WOW! Flower arrangements are changed twice daily. Chocolate Platters brought to room each night. Fresh scented rose petals and candles placed by the bath tub..
Staff-
Were there to cater for your every need.. Bell boys were extremely friendly and helpful. Concierge arranged the entire day trip to Colonia Del Sacramento in Uruguay in a professional manner.
Breakfast-
Selection wasnt that large but food was yummo!
If only i could buy a room in the Sofitel Buenos Aires!

Service
Business serviceIts the quality of service that makes the Sofitel stand out. We stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon, we got a great room and complementary champagne - they really went out of their way to make us feel special. The staff could not do enough for us.
It is a classy hotel located in a central area, Recoleta and Puerto Madero are close by, yet it is on a quiet street with many art galleries which meant there was no noise at night and you returned to an oasis of calm after a busy day sight-seeing.
The restaurant Le Sud is superb, we had a meal here the first night and it was probably the best of our trip. Our only gripe would be that the pool and gym are small.

Service
Business serviceI will echo all the positive things said about this hotel by prior reviewers and add one more thing. In addition to being elegant and fabulous, this hotel feels very private. While in Buenos Aires, we strolled over to the Alvear Palace Hotel to see what we were missing. As it turned out, the only thing we were missing was throngs of tourists. The Alvear lobby is a bit of a tourist destination, with great crowds of milling visitors coming for tea, a drink or just a look around. The Sofitel, on the other hand, doesn't attract the public; it is a haven for its guests and was much appreciated for that sense of calm in busy Buenos Aires.
