The Park Tower was a great disapointment. I stayed there for 5 days in early November 2007 for business purposes. The location is great but that is about it. While trying ( and charging for the bad try!!) to be a first rate hotel , the staff of the hotel really comes short. My trip was booked quite late and I had to pay full fare ( USD 360/night) for what ended up to be just an average hotel. The service was pathetic. There was always a long wait at the main door for taxis early in the morning. On the Saturday afternoon while the business center was open, I could not find anyone to give me the password to use internet on one of the computer of the business center. At night I would phone to get a wake up call and nobody, I really mean NOBODY would answer the call either at the wake up call center, at the concierge or at the reception. I literally had to call 6 or 7 times to talk to someone, and that is everynight
. Dry cleaning is outrageously expensive( USD 14.00 for a shirt) and the service is barely average. The day I checked out at 8.30 am there was no clerk at the desk for at least 20 minutes.Bell boys were running around to find someone( we were at least 8 people waiting). One day I had guest for breakfast only to discover that the rate per person was almost USD 30.00 . Those are New York or London prices. I have been traveling and living in Latin America for 20 years. I have stayed in very good hotel ( such as the Ritz Carlton Chile and the Four Seasons or JW Marriott in Mexico). The Park Towers charges NY city rates and offer absolutely nothing for it.
I could go on forever but I am sure you get my point. If you have a very cheap rate and low expectations, the location is good and the hotel is clean.
