Pros: all cab drivers (except one!) knew the location, metro was right outside, nice lobby, friendly staff, not expensive, close (no more than 15 minutes on foot, cab, or train) to several attractions, including Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Cafe Tortoni, Confiteria La Ideal, the Obelisk, bank across the street, a few cafes and restaurants nearby, easy to get cabs outside hotel or on streets close-by, mini-fridge/minibar in room, room service (never used it, but nice to know it was available), free Internet station between lobby and elevators. Had rooms near back of hotel, so it was usually pretty quiet at bed time.
Hotel also has spa, but if you intend to use it, book in advance. Only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but it was more than adequate to get started in the morning. It was a buffet with coffee, tea, freshly squeezed orange juice (they also had grapefruit juice), medialunas, scrambled eggs, toast, assorted jams and jellies, cereal, fresh fruit, and a couple of small desserts.
Cons: not so crazy about the neighborhood itself, although all the basics were close, and then some, but we had to take cabs or trains to get to nicer/livelier parts of the city (San Telmo, Recoleta, Puerto Madero, Palermo, etc.). Rooms are small and plain, but this is not necessarily a con, since we were hardly ever there. (Pretty much the same as a room in an old, small hotel in a European city.) The beds were hard, though. Think Best Western rooms, but with semi-fancy lobby.
If on a budget, definitely consider this--it has all the basics, plus a few amenities, it's convenient to banks and transportation, and it's close to a few attractions. If you're willing to spend a little more for nicer accommodations or a better location, do not like basic accommodations, or want to be closer to lively night spots, you may want to look at a different hotel in another part of town.
