Spacious room, good service, a pleasant staff all contributed towards a comfortable stay. Nicely restored, though not opulent. Didn't experience any of the noise or construction work, so it must have been completed when we got there. A stone's throw from the city center makes it ideal for anyone wanting to walk to central destinations.

We stayed at the Nogaro for 3 nights in late October and frankly, it was a mistake. We were at the start of a long trip, and decided that we would treat ourselves, as for the rest of our trip we are staying in hostels. However, far from being a treat it was the worst place we have stayed in to date.
Check in took 1 hour, and the staff made assumptions about us, as we arrived with rucksacks. They were rude and dimissive. When we finally got to our room we found that we had been given twin beds, although we had specifically asked for a double. The toilet was also leaking all over the bathroom floor. We went back down to reception and they refused to let us move rooms. They also promised to send someone from maintenance to fix the toilet, but he never appeared, and the toilet continued to leak throughout our stay.
Although the hotel is in a good location, and the breakfast is fabulous, the attitude of the staff really made our stay unpleasant. On check out, we told them that we had a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate from the minibar, and paid for same. They implied we were lying and accused us of taking liquers from the minibar and trying not to pay. We were also overcharged for a phone call.
One the whole would not recommend this hotel, unless you are really desperate for somewhere to stay.

A very pleasant surprise.We read the reviews on TA and made it our choice.It had a great location-right by "Casa Rosada" ,Plaza de Mayo and Calle Florida.Very safe area,fantastic price,clean room and a great morning buffet.The bed was very confortable and it had the old fashioned bathtub.Also had free internet in the basement.The desk staff were extremely helpful-giving directions,calling a cab,giving a recommendation for a restaurant.I would recommend this hotel to others.Would stay there again in a second.

Just got back from a week's stay at this hotel in BA.
I can only recommend this to everyone. Room was quiet, cleaned everyday, fresh towels etc...possibly two minor drawbacks..a) when you get in the room it is dark and you have to use your "key-card" to stick into the specially designed outlet to get the light...b) be careful when settling the bill ..I booked on-line & had my reservation # INCLUDING the price printed out, however on the check out the receptionist charged me almost a double price, pretending that he did not know what I was talking about...finally & fortunately the manager later straightened it out & I paid only the price I should ...i.e cca $80/night double.
