This is a great hotel for families with kids. Very comfortable rooms with wonderful grounds and a very fun indoor pool. Construction noise is a bit of a nuisance (especially during massages!). My first room actually had a horrible smoking/smoking cleaning agent smell and I asked for a new room and they gave me one that didn't smell quite as bad, but be warned all of the rooms are smoking. The grounds were great with a playground for the kids. There are also cabanas for families that looked lovely but were fully booked. The buffet breakfast was top notch with something for everyone. Cab ride into town was about $3 so it's a pretty convenient location even though it's a bit out of town. The lake views are lovely and all in all this is a great hotel.

“Loved the Lake view”

We are accustomed to staying at hotels with an AAA four diamond hotel rating and although Villa Huinid doesn’t have a AAA rating, it can certainly live up to the AAA four diamond standard with regard to the cleanliness and quality of e.g. the reception area, rooms, bathrooms and beds.

Our 30 sq/mt room (on the third level) which had a king size bed, a jacuzzi, and a bathtub with hydromassage, had a beautiful view of the lake Lago Nahuel Huapi. The room of our children (age 11 and 13) which had a view to the forest (very nice plants with beautiful trees), was a little smaller, had its own (smaller) bathroom (with bathtub), two single/twin beds and was interconnected with our room through a small “hallway” as we were staying at the far left side of the hotel. I think that only the rooms at the far left side of the hotel are connected through a small “hallway” as our room didn’t have a connecting door. However, the corridor between the Lago rooms and the Bosque rooms is approx. 4 to 5 feet wide and the hotel is not that big (which is good as you children will not get lost easily), so not having a small “hallway” to connect these (opposite) rooms may not be such a setback.

With regard to breakfast-dinner (no lunch is served at the Huinid), Intercontinental Hotel and JW Marriot Miami e.g. have a better quality. If I had to give them both a grade, Intercontinental Hotel and JW Marriot Miami would receive an A - and Huinid a C+.

Down town is approx. a 5 minute drive (approx. 5 argentine pesos for a taxi) from the hotel and Cerro Cathedral is approx. 25 minutes drive away (approx. 25 pesos for a taxi). Clothes (incl. snow boots) for Cerro Cathedral (temperature at that time -5° Celsius) can be rented relatively cheap at different shops in downtown.

Overall I would say this is a very good hotel to stay in. Perhaps not the most convenient if you want to stay directly in down town and except for the indoor swimming pool no other (worth mentioning) amenities for the children, but if you’re planning trips to the various attractions outside the city center, then it has a convenient location.

“Very nice hotel - a good surprise”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

I have made the reservation by internet ( 50% credit card ).
I choose a cabana - was shipper than the apartment.
When we arrived, we had a very nice surprise.
The place is beautiful, the cabana has everything you need.
Clean, good space, warm, cable tv, good bathroom, mini bar,you can use the pool, etc.
Only the breakfast could be better - the same level of the hotel.
People very nice.
I recomend.

“Definite Five Star!”

We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. I'll add my raves to my fellow Trip Advisors' reviews. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff courteous, friendly, helpful and most spoke fluent English. The breakfast buffet plentiful and excellent. I had a wonderful 2 hour spa experience--a full body treatment and a facial for only $80.00! The indoor pool was lovely with great decor. I'd like to stay in one of their cabanas on my next visit.

“An Excellent Choice”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

5 of 5 stars

This is an excellent choice although it was rather pricey. We had a very large non-smoking room overlooking the lake. It included a comfortable bed, and a safe as well as a jacuzzi tub. Service was very attentive and the included breakfast was quite sumptuous.

We were travelling with our adult daughter and the original arrangement was for us to have an extra bed in our room at a surcharge of $19 US daily. I asked if they had any unoccupied rooms and was offered one (facing the back) for $100 US per night (ours was nearly double that. I met with the manager and we negotiated a price of $60 US (which was only $41 more than the $19 bed surcharge.) The hotel was able to generate some added revenue for a room that would have otherwise stayed empty and I was able to obtain a relative bargain.

The hotel was very roomy and only a five minute taxi ride from town. It had a spa that included a steam room, Scottish showers, massages, etc. My daughter had a 30 minue massage for only $20 US.

A couple of minor negatives were that our bath had no wash cloths or paper tissues. There was no air conditioning (it does not get very hot there even in summer) and no portable fans were available to move the air.
All in all, I was pleased with our choice and recommend this hotel.
