“Relaxation at its best”

Sinalei Reef Resort

We had 8 nights at Sinalei & this was the perfect place for a well needed relaxing break.
When we arrived at 1.00am, security gave us a garden room when we had paid for an Ocean view. It was too late to sort, so the next morning we were ungraded higher to a beachside fale. This room was spectacular to say the least with the water lapping up under the deck & the fab outdoor shower in a very romantic setting. But unfortunately these Kiwis couldn't sleep after 3 sleepless nights. Unless you like dropping off to noisy surf crashing on the beach & no aircon then the beachfront rooms may also not be for you. We met others in similar fales that loved it, so personal taste. The staff especially Lei were kind enough to move us to where we should have been to start with (oceanview) & we loved the quiet room with the aircon.
We also prepaid for the meal package which is highly recommended as you could have anything on the menu, so we over indulged as the food was really good.
The resort is lush & beautiful, the staff friendly & helpful.
The only fault we could say was the weather which rained most days & lots of it! The resort does not cater well for wet weather activities, so take a few good books. The staff said Aug is a better month.

We stayed for 5 days in June. I read the review by ozdurant, he/she must be awfully hard to please as our stay was the best holiday for relaxation we have ever had. The staff couldn't be more helpful, the food scrumptious, rooms were spot on, no sign of ants/rats. I just don't see how you could complain about anything, I think it depends on your attitude!! We will definately be going back, absolute paradise, Thanks to the Sinalei staff for your warm hospitality

“Best Resort In Upolu”

Sinalei Reef Resort

We had one of the Beach Side rooms so I can't speak for the other rooms but our room was great. Nice deck out to the beach with hammock. Comfortable bed and a good Mosquito net. Bring some good bug spray for sure. Outside shower was pretty cool too. Room was a bit pricey for Samoa but the resort is the nicest we saw in Samoa. Food and drinks are somewhat reasonably priced to if you sick with local or NZ stuff. Food was a little better a Coconuts but its a very short walk away when you want to change it up. If your trying to decide between staying here and Coconuts its a no brainer, Sinalei is way better. Staff was great, very accommodating. as far as surfing goes. The are some decent waves a short boat ride away, surf camp next door can take you or for a more personal touch find Neil. He knows some great reefs. Ask for him at coconuts.

“Very very nice”

We stayed at both Cocnuts and Sinalei. This is definately nicer. This is a beautiful resort. Not that you have a lot of choices in Samoa but this is really lovely. It is very clean and they have very friendly and helpful service. The room was not huge but well laid out. The bathroom was open to the outside with a large tiled shower. The plumbing worked well. They do not have any rooms that sleep more than 4 and they do not allow children under 12. The pool is gorgeous as are the ocean views. The breakfast is complimentary and very delicious with a pretty good selection. Lunch and dinner by the sea was very good. My only complaints were that they did not supply hairdryer or 110 volt outlets. But the towels were thick and they did supply beach/pool towels.

“We will be back”

We met several people in the cab from the airport who were returning to Sinalei and we will be back ourselves. Minor glitches in the efficiencies that you might expect from slicker, less authentic , mass market resorts cannot detract from the warmth of the climate, the beauty of the place itself and the open-hearted staff who give Sinalei its individuality.
