“Top Notch Luxury!”

Royal Palms Resort and Spa

5 of 5 stars
Baltimore, MD
May 16, 2008

My husband and I had the good fortune to spend one night at the Royal Palms in August. This resort is, quite frankly, the epitomy of luxury. You'll feel like you're in another world as soon as you arrive.

We have stayed at many first-class resorts around the world and I would rank the Royal Palms in my top five. The service was impeccable. The grounds were breathtaking. Our room was lovely, and I adored the huge bathtub.

When the staff found out that we were celebrating our anniversary, they left a plate of decadent sweets in our room. Our brunch at the restaurant was amazing.

If you feel like venturing off the property, you must try Los Olivos for the best Mexican of your life. It's just a short drive away. There's also wonderful shopping nearby. That said, rest assured, you won't want to leave this oasis. I can't wait to return in the future. If you're look for a rejuvenating retreat, this is it.

“The best of the best!”

Finally, a hotel were being rated five-star means you are treated as such. The service began weeks before we checked in with the concierge planning our pick-up at the airport, our spa treatments booked and our anniversary dinner set. Upon arrival, you feel like you've been transported to a tropical oasis (we stayed the night before we flew to Hawaii, people comment that the pictures I took at the Royal Palms look more like Hawaii than my actual Hawaii pictures!!!) Our room, one of the Alvadora Spa Suites was incredible--luxurious, intimate and perfect. Extra little touches, like smoothies after arrival, snacks waiting for you, made me think of this as a large-scale b&b!

Our couple's massage was by far the BEST I have ever received and the atmosphere in the spa was the most relaxing I've experienced. Everything was top-notch and the amenities thoughtful and well appointed.

Our anniversary dinner at the onsite T. Alexanders included thoughtful touches such as personalized menu's and rose petals scattered at the most private of tables. The attentive service was second to none and I can finally say I've experienced a stay in a five-star resort (others claim to be, but have all disappointed! Not so here!)

Our early departure the next morning was made easier with coffee, fresh-made biscotti and a newspaper to go...again, the touches you expect only at a b&b were found here. Our driver commented that the President is fond of staying at the Royal Palms; we completely agree!

“Serene and Beautiful”

We stayed in the Monte Vista Terrace room for 2 nights and we were very sad to leave. The grounds are gorgeous and perfectly maintained. Everyone at the hotel, from the valet parkers to the front desk, provided impeccable service. The hotel is certainly geared towards romance and it did not disappoint. The room was beautifully appointed with shutters above the sunken tub that open on to the room. The resort was very quiet with only the sound of the fountains to lull you to sleep each night. The pool was small but very clean. They provide nice rafts to relax on as well as ice water with lemon. We had dinner at T Cooks and enjoyed sitting out on the terrace looking at the stars. Breakfast was also very good.

The hotel is in very close proximity to Scottsdale, although it is listed as Phoenix we went to Scottsdale each day.

We stayed the Biltmore next and were so bummed! We should have stayed at the Palms!

“Royal Palms is Great”

Royal Palms Resort and Spa

5 of 5 stars
New York
May 3, 2008

We recently returned from 6 days at Royal Palms Resort and Spa and all we can do is rave about it to everyone. We absolutely loved everything. The one word that can describe it is "Idyllic". The grounds feel tropical, even though it's in Arizona, the pool area is calm and tranquil (except the last day when there was a wedding scheduled) and the staff is attentive and friendly, never stuffy. Rick, one of the men that works at the pool restaurant even read my mind one day when I was debating whether or not to have ice cream. I swear he didn't hear me and brought me a sample!

We ate breakfast and lunch everyday at the hotel and everything was delicious. All in all, we would highly recommend it and would go back happily. It's not a good place for kids though - it's really an adult romantic kind of vacation. We visited some of the bigger places (Phoenician, Baltimore) and were even more glad we stayed where we did.
